4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours deep black, opaque. Big brown thick head, stays a while. Smells of coffee, chocolate, sweet malts, wort, more coffee, tiny hint of liquorice. Taste is heavy roasted coffee, chocolate, I’m getting some wood-like notes. The alcohol is there, but not disturbing at all. Semi-thick mouthfeel with ok carbonation. Long nice bitterness. Packed with lots of intense flavors, but still amazingly balanced.

Smells of super soft coffee and chocolate malts. Nice dark black in color. Super Rick dark chocolate flavor followed by coffee and dark roasted malts. Very nice flavor with the two combined. Beautiful full body with just the right amount of carbonation. The first beer from you guy and all I can say is love this brew. Nice work with this coffee stout wish it wasn’t so day but nice work.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bought at a specialty brew shop.
Pours a surprisingly dark, almost ink like color with a small dark head.
Smells of roasted nuts, chocolate and some malt.
Tastes of coffee, chocolate, malt, roasted nuts and a hint of dark fruit.
It has an oily chewy consistency that goes down very filling.
Overall? Absolutely amazing! many people I have talked to say this is the best Imperial Stout they’ve had!

Dark opaque black. Very small tan head. Coffee, dark chocolate, roasted grains. Sweet, some bitterness from the roasted malt. Thick, heavy body. Very oily, very chewy. Decent amount of acidity. Pretty upfront alcohol. Very good.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Great Divide’s acclaimed RIS, so far only tasted in its oaked version but now it’s time for the original. Creamy, lacing, stable, pale greyish beige head on top of a black beer with mahogany edges. Lovely, rich and flawless bouquet of cocoa, coffee grounds, vanilla, stewed beef, bayleaf, cappuccino, cured bacon, salmiak, some shoe polish, roasted pine nuts. Restrained, well-placed candied fig sweetishness in the mouth surrounded by a thick, beefy umami edge, softish carbo with very creamy, thick, oily mouthfeel as is to be expected from the style, thick bitter chocolate sauce, caramel and coffee-like roasted bitterness, mouth-filling, ensuring a long dry finish along with a spicy dosis of peppery hops and a glow of warm, whisky-like alcohol. Classic American impy in every sense, this completely lives up to is reputation, but then I admit to have a weakness for the style.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
355 ml bottle. Jet black beer in the glass, thin mocca coloured head. Aroma is wonderfull, packed with dark chocolate, coffee, leather and tobacco smoke. Full bodied mouthfeel, thick, well carbonated and bitter. Flavours are plum, cherry, alcohol and loads of bitter chocolate and coffee. This is the final beer for the night, or at least it should be...

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is an absolute meal of a beer and it’s wonderful. Had it on tap and aromas of coffee and chocolate were practically jumping out of the glass. There’s a nice roastiness as well. Taste is big roasty coffee, chocolate and surprisingly not massively sweet. It’s a little dryer if that’s even a thing. The big win for this was the delicious coffee flavor. It’s a beast of a beer and definitely worth trying.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
