Great Divide’s Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti’s hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

A perfect example of the quality of beer breweries should start with before they go tossing it in wood barrels with cocoa nibs and organic kale. Hugely flavorful and aromatic with chocolate, coffee, toffee and char.

Apr 2014 650ml bottle. Pours like ink with higher than expected carbonation creating an aerated 2 finger dark brown head that leaves nice lacing. Aromas of mocha, milk chocolate, vanilla and roasted meat - very inviting. Taste is initially fairly sweet, caramel, dark chocolate and stewed plums, then transitions to a coffee bitterness and finishes with a dry charred meat flavour. Full bodied, nice oily mouthfeel. Very enjoyable.

Rich on maltsweetness, choco, coffee, roast and slightly dark fruits? Taste the same and reveals bitter hops, toffee. Also a bit oily.

Bottle (12oz): pours black with small Dakotan head. Flavors matched description which is not always the case. Some bitterness in the end. Not very sweet. Very nice.

Not as good as most of the variants, but you gotta start somewhere. Decent building block. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: dark rich chocolate, filter coffee, overripe fruits, toasted malts. Appearance: black, medium beige creamy head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: light bitters coming up quickly, coffee, toasted malts, dark ripe berries in the background, some prunes?. Overall: fantastic Imperial Stout, excellent palate which is not too sweet as often the case in this style! Bottle at BrewDog, Shoreditch.
