Une petite bouteille née le 8 janvier 2013. Un liquide profondément noir et presque visqueux. Un col mousseux intouchable et une dentelle qui dessine un relief montagneux. Un nez intense de notes rôties et de houblons américains, riche de malts chocolatés et de café, avec des touches de tabac à pipe, de caramel épicé et de pamplemousse. Fantastique. Un goût qui exhibe une puissance maltée et une force houblonnée impressionnantes : mes papilles s’asservissent devant cette profondeur marquée par le café, le chocolat, les notes épicées, la citronnade et les conifères. En tout temps, l’alcool demeure bien dissimulé : je le trouve même très dangereux. En bouche, le corps du liquide montre un talent fou. Sa densité, sa texture crémeuse et son pétillement ajusté peuvent faire école. La finale vibre au rythme des houblons et des notes amères fabriquées par la torréfaction. Tout simplement sublime. Je dirais même plus : grandiose.

Bottle BBE 02/14. Black pour, no head but some brown bubbles form on top. Smells yeasty and of American hops. Taste is mainly barley, some coffee, oily hoppiness. Mid-bodied. Bitter finish. Quite good.

What an amazing imperial stout, the very best I have had so far. Decadent aroma and taste of cocoa, espresso, vanilla, and malty goodness. This pitch black brew is the perfect combination of malts and hops. Simply amazing!!

Pours ink black with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate and roast with a slight hop bite. Taste is exactly like the nose with a bitter finish. Nice.

the aroma was awesome rich malt caramel and toffee appearance dark and full taste light bitter body bold texture thick carbonation flat finish long i would recommend this beer it was a great beer to drink

Siste runde på Cardinaltreff mai-13, og en skikkelig grande finale! Lysebrunt cremet skum, og allerede skummet er en nytelse med enorm munnfylde. "En av de aller beste vi har hatt på Cardinal" iflg. Sigmund, og jeg tiltreder hans besrkivelse: Pitch black colour, brown head. Lovely aroma of heavily roasted malts, cigar box and leather. Intense roasty flavour with notes of strong coffee, dark bitter chocolate and English liquorice. Brilliant stuff!

Pours an opaque black with small khaki head and decent lacing. Aroma is of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate with a hint of smokiness. Taste is of those roasted malts and dark chocolate with burnt brown sugar and a piney and bittersweet finish. Full bodied with viscous mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Above average imperial stout that hits all the marks and is well put together.

Pours black with a small head, 330ml bottle. Thick chocolate, coffee, oatmeal upfront in the aroma, becomes roasty and then follows the pine & citrus hop onslaught with a long bitter finish. Complex, but holds everything together nicely with a bit of alcohol warmth. Lovely.

Pours pitch black with a cinnamon colored head that disappears quickly. Smells of dark chocolate and espresso, and tastes about the same. Solid from start to finish.
