Great Divide’s Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti’s hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Draft. Pours black with thick creme colored head. Some sweetness with a coffee bitter finish. I wish it was a bit thicker. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Blind RIS experiment [Sample 5/20, 3/30/2015] Poured by myself. Lovely thick inky black pour, like for real used oil. Dense dark brown head; good retention and lacing. Aroma is odd -- unsweetened baking chocolate / cocoa powder laced with windex. At first opening I swear I smelled nail polish remover, but that was gone on subsequent sniffs. Hops have a spicy, floral character. Pretty potent hop component. Taste/texture combo leaves the impression of sooty coffee grounds, like right at the end of a French press. Reasonably dry with tons of bitterness. Coffee and roast, very little sweetness. This is one roasty bitter son of a gun. Full body, appropriate carbonation. Lasting bitter finish. As it warms further there’s this sour dark roasted fruit component that’s pretty unpleasant. Doughy on the midpalate, harsh alcohol burn. Overall: are all non-barrel-aged imperial stouts unappealing to me, or have I just been front-loading? Also, aftertaste reminiscent of edamame? What’s with that?

Tiefschwarz im Glas, Kaffee brauner Schaum, würzig malzig, röstaromen in der Nase, würzig malzig im Geschmack, extrem trocken im Abgang, leichte Schoko und Kaffee Aromen. Nicht so meins

Bottle from cellarbrations super store in hami hill. Pours thick, oily, pitch black with a thick tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate, whisky, brown sugar, prunes and Vegemite. Taste is much similar leading to a heavy bitter finish. Great beer

Pours like chocolate syrup with a deep brown head. Aromas of chocolate and toffee greet the nose and similar but more intense flavors follow on the tongue. Subtle flavors of burnt caramel are also present. This is a big bold beer with lots to offer. Definitely one to try and to order again. And again, and again.... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very black in colour with a coffee coloured head. Aroma of hops, dark chocolate, coffee and lots of roast. Flavour was roasty, some coffee, creamy, chocolate with a slight sweetness. Finish is creamy, roasty and long. Very good.
