Bottle, thanks zeswaft. Dark chocolate color, opaque, with a light brown head. Nose is roasty and smoky, hops, alcohol, cocoa, some light coffee notes, sweet and burnt malts. Really smooth flavor (goes well with chocolate). Sweeter than I expected, again, hops and alcohol, bittersweet malt, cocoa like notes, very roasty. Maybe a touch too sweet. Nice on the palate, oily and silky, while still having a dry finish. Very nice beer, the barrel aged brother is a good upgrade for sure.

Oct 5, 2008 Bottle. Black beer with a strong brown head. The aroma is mildly roasted, and the flavour is deeply roasted and bitter. Overall a nice bitter stout.

Oct 2, 2008 Bottle. Poured a deep black with a two finger brown head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and malt. Flavor is coffee with a chocolate finish. Body is full and smooth with soft carbonation.
