kujo9 (1044), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA Feb 20, 2004 2003: Thick oily black liquid w/a lasting brown head. Roasty & hoppy aroma w/ some chocolate, but not dark fruit that I can detect. Becomes more toasty and caramel as it warms. Flavor starts roasty and hoppy as well w/ some chocolate malt, well balanced w/ a semi sweet roasty hop finish and aftertaste. Medium full body w/ a very well hidden alcohol and smooth mouthfeel. Very nice and drinkable but not as complex as I'd hoped in an I.S.
