COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Great Divide’s Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti’s hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Dark coffee color with strong chocolate aroma. Some sweetness along with the roasty feel. Finishes with the right amount of alcohol and just enough bitterness. Nice Stout!

I don’t think it was capped properly, the cap was slightly flared, poured with no head and minimal lacing, most reviews say a very large head. It is absolute oil black. A strong chocolate, bitter cocoa, coffee aroma, the hops in the background. The taste is bold, medium to high bitterness with a very long finish, it’s all coffee and cocoa.

Apperance: Nice black color with a great brown head.

Aroma: Coffee, roasted malts and chocolate. And don’t forget the funky/skunky aromas in the background, o yes there are the real deal…

Taste: Roasted malts here as well, coffee, toffee and maybe some liquorice.

Palate: A full bodied beer, with aromas and flavors that will stay untill tomorrow.

Overall: A very nice and drinkable Imperial Stout indeed. And yes, the Yeti is beautiful…

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom’s place. Thanks zvsn. Dark black with medium brown head. Sweet milk chocolate aroma, liquorice, vanilla, coffee and notes of salted fish. Flavor of milk chocolate, moderate sweetness, notes of soy sauce, liquorice, notes of coffee, some roastiness toastiness, light bitterness, very rich and complex, bitter-sweet finish. Light carbonation, full-bodied. Excellent.

33cl bottle from Systembolaget (probably Sälen some time ago). Pours black, used motor oil looking with a brown head. Lovely, massive aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and hints of licorice, caramel and fruity and herbal hops. Sweet and lovely flavourful with a nicely balanced bitterness. Full bodied with carbonation on the soft side. Complex, but dangerously drinkable with well integrated alcohol and a nice warming and somewhat bitter finish. Really delicious, pure liquid candy and the kind of beer that makes me remember why I love beer so much in the first place. (About time to try this one again and just what I needed after trying to quite horrible new beers)

Bottle shared at a tasting. Pours opaque black with a nice beige head. Aroma of roasted grains, coffee beans, cocoa, dark chocolate and licorice. Starts sweet with flavors of cocoa, soy, ash, burnt malt, dark chocolate, a bit salty and acidic, some hops flavors, dry bitter finish. Rather full bodied, smooth and creamy. Great.

Keg at brewdog bar, Leeds.black with dark brown (near black) head. Aromas of liquorice, tar, smoke and coal. Taste is deeply bitter. Thick oily body and measured carbonation. Not bad, couldn’t have more than a third though.

Bottle pours a dark brown, big mocha head that recedes to a ring. Aromas of roasted nuts, chocolate malt, coffee and bittering hops. Taste is fairly bitter out of the gate...moderate body could have a more depth to calm the hops...but a nice roasted backbone is detected...along with more bitter coffee...some lingering sweet molasses in the finish along with a warming alcohol. Solid stuff!

15 month old bomber. Pitch black with dark brown head. Nose is mega sweet roasted malt, some booze stinging the nostrils. Taste is roasted malt, bitter chocolate, coffee, lingering sweet finish. Oily, thick mouthfeel. Well balanced. Great stout.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2015 Beautiful black color with a hint of red highlights and a small brown head that also is a bit reddish. Aroma is coffee, cocoa, vanilla, warm. Taste is rich and full-bodied, mild cocoa, blackcurrants, warming boozy finish with bitter coffee. Carbonation is fine but still very noticeable. Oily texture. A fine Imperial Stout.

Grand vanilla, espresso, and chocolate aroma. Hoppy flavour, accompanied with rich, dark malts.
