3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
28th December 2007
Oily black stout. The initial stout flavours are quickly blown out of the water by the massive hoppyness! Drinkable and warming though!

Pours pitch black, high viscosity, nice brown lacing. Aroma has some coffee, also berries - black currant? Roast and A LOT OF HOPS. Taste is smoky, base with a strong malt character that has a blanket of hop aromas and flavours thrown over it. IBU is 75 which does not actually feel too much at all - malty-roasty base balances nicely with the hop orgy this beer has. Very good imperial porter - that has probably been intensively dry-hopped. Aftertaste is long, roast again, dry with coffee, bitter dark chocolate and some hops bitterness. Something smoky at the end. This is a big beer and you want to savour it, quite impossible to guggle.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: Pours black ale with a single finger of dark mocha head. This sticks around for quite some time and leaves strong and persistent lacing. Canít see through this one. Great appearance.
S: complex. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, toffee, graham, figs, nougat, caramel. Hops are resiny, piney, earthy.
T: Dark and sweet and bitter. The beer is multilayered. coated with coffee, soil, dates, and hops. The meat is chocolate, toffee, anise, dark malts. Finishes with plenty of charred cocoa and coffee.
M: Thick and creamy. Fine carbonation. Slick at the edges and dry centrally.
O: This beer is outstanding. I donít believe the adjusted variations Iíve had so far are as good as the original.

I really like this. A beer to sip and savor. Kind of reminds me of nibbling on a rum filled cherry wrapped in dark chocolate. Perfect beverage to savor as I watch the snow fly outside. Good job great divide !!

I bagged this mythical beast in a yeti sized 22oz bottle. It pours out a monstrous dark midnight black with a dark coffee brown head. Strong coffee and chocolate smell comes out of this one. The taste is a thick chocolate/malt mixture. Pure awesomeness. The aftertaste is a little bitter, but in a good way. The bitterness from the malt is balanced well with the chocolate. Great beer. I would love to try to capture this huge beast again in the future. In my opinion.

Bottle from world beers. Pours a viscous black. Dark tan head. Scent of chocolate, coffee and a little alcohol. Nice chocolate flavor. Smooth, nice burn. Booze lingers. Beautiful.

Wow. Incredible aroma... nice roasted and chocolate malts. Inky black with a nice light brown head. For me, the ETOH was much too strong. Iíve had other imperial stouts where the alcohol didnít dominate the flavor profile, but that was the case for me here. Somewhat disappointed.

Dark thick pour...with a dark cherry colour head. Aromas of roasted malts and bitter chocolate. Full bodied taste,,,,starts sweet with a lingering bitter chocolate flavour and a espresso finish. Good complexity

This stout is intense in flavor and in hoppiness. The black color and the huge head are good indicators of the intense taste. This is a stout for those who like extremes.

Good dark beer. Very nice sweet, chocolate taste. However, the taste fades away pretty quickly. Watery aftertaste.
