Black as the coal mined from beneath the brewery Black Jesus is a black IPA brewed with biblical quantities of premium American hops and special dehusked German roasted malt. A second coming for the church of the IPA. Enjoy with Chocolate, cold meats or just loaves and fishes.

Cask at The Hop Inn, Newcastle-Under-Lyme. A deep brown colour with a thin off white head. Aroma of roasted malts, liquorice, some coffee, some dark chocolate, slight grapefruit and pine. Taste of pine, resin, roasted malts, dark chocolate, some orange, grapefruit and liquorice. Full bodied and a soft carbonation. A roasted, then resinous hop bitterness in the finish. A drink to sip, even at 6.5%. A good, bitter, resinous black IPA. Tastes a lot hoppier than most black IPAs, good.

Cask conditioned at Stratford upon Avon Beer Festival ’15. Black with cream head. There is a deep, dark roasted, full palate to the malts, charcoal hints with crispy toast then a strong, bittering chocolate note. Amongst all of this malty stuff going on there is a leafy, grassy, bittering hop character. Loads going on but not really that confusing. I liked this a lot and my beer of this Festival.

In short:dry roasty ale.
Pours black with nice tan head. Moderate head retention, good lacing. Roasty, liquorice, spicy, citrusy nose. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is quite bitter, dry, roasty, coffee, little citrusy. Quite dry aftertaste.

330ml ; oh Jesus what a superb name for a beer ..I would not call this beer a faith experience ,it is pretty mild in spiritual transcendence . But yes friends and alcoholics , JESUS is back and black ... this beer is a textbook black ipa . Nice faith redemption in the roasted finish. I wanna get down on my knees and start pleasing Jesus .

Bottle 25/05/15/. Pours pitch black with a slight tan head. Serious complex hoppy/roast aromas. Tastes roasted, slight smoke, touch of caramel, serious hoppyness going on!

Cerveza de color negro oscuro con aroma a lupulo. Sabor intenso a stout nada mas entrar en boca y final de boca a ipa con profundo sabor a cascade que la da el amargor característico de las ipa perfecta para tomarse mas de una.

April 2015 - Cask at Gravity Station, Cardiff. Black, decent foamy brown head, thick lacing. Aroma is fruity hop, liquorice. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is very hop-forward, perfumey, sandalwood perfume, dried flowers, soft malts, straw, assertive woody bitterness. Pretty decent.
