Aroma is very prominent citrus, almost pungent, lemon so rather than grapefruit or lime. taste is very malty and softish, carbonation is at cask ale levels which is really nice. What a really citrussy refreshing clean beer.

330ml bottle at The New Penguin, 16/01/15. Happy Scan Day beans! Dehydrated gold with a lazy attempt at head. Good maple and honey-dappled peach and stewed greenery aroma. Soapy bitter hop awash with kumquat, peach and grapefruit suggestions sweetened with honeycomb. Soft condition. Good but leaning at little too far over the Atlantic malt-wise for the hops to shine. That said, it’s good. Some almost smoked pale chaff on the swallow.

Bottle. Bronze with a small head.Citrus dominates but doesn’t take over. Could have done with a bit more body but still a pretty pleasant beer. This brewery seems to be very consistent in delivering pleasant and interesting beers.

Cask, Ale House, Chelmsford, 9th January 2015 and many times before. This is one of my favourite Greck Heck beers. The piney resinous hop notes are strong in this one. Loads of raw onions from the Citra hop and grapefruit. Drinkability is superb. For me this is like the cask equivalent of Kernel Citra. It’s one of my favourite single hop Citra beers in the UK. You can have an awful lot of this and still want more. No problem with the malt either. The finish is a little dry but damn for a Citra single hop beer this is stunning. A great showcase for a magnificent hop. Top work Denzil.
