Clear medium to dark brown color with a small to average, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, roasted, coffee, dusty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20090804]

4th August 2009 Cask at GBBF. Light brown beer. A little malt and a little hops. Inoffensive but just another boring English bitter.

On cask at Brigantes for the 10 points. Pours a very dark ruby brown colour with a decent light tan head. Aroma of caramel, yeast, roasty malt and chocolate. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and a creamy mouth-feel. Not bad. Go Tubes!

Cask conditioned handpump Duck & Drake Leeds. A dark brown to mahogany coloured beer with a sparkled whitish head and copious lace. A dry nutty malty beer. Notes of chocolate and licorice. Coffee also. A thick chewy texture. Nice enough.

Cask @ 2nd Saltburn Beer Festival. A clear red/brown colored beer, with a small beige head. The aroma of bitter hops with some sweet fruits. The aftertaste is a little sweet and dry with some bitter.

Cask @ GBBF 2009. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty caramel aroma with some hints of chocoalte. Has a toasted malty chooclate flavor with hints of caramel. Fruity malty slightly toasted caramel finish.

Cask (gravity dispense) at the Bricklayers Arms Yorkshire beer festival, February 2009. Quite dark bitter. Some burnt notes but didn’t come over like roast malt. Touch of plastic. Some earthy hops. Not bad but not great either.
