Cask (gravity dispense) at the Bricklayers Arms Yorkshire beer festival, February 2009. Quite dark bitter. Some burnt notes but didnít come over like roast malt. Touch of plastic. Some earthy hops. Not bad but not great either.

Hand-pulled half-pint in íFar From The Madding Crowdí Oxford on 23rd Nov 13.
No head on my dark brown pour (wasnít in the greatest condition to be fair).
Malts lead the way with this session ale, slight chocolate feel to both the nose and taste but generally pretty tasteless and forgettable. I might be being unkind because I nearly took it back as it was obviously on itís last legs.
Fairly smooth for a Bitter with very little actual hop bitterness, or there wasnít at the end of the barrel my half came from.

Flavours are chocolate malts with some roast character and nutty notes. Grapefruit and dark chocolate bitterness with a peppery finish. Decent.

Cask at GBBF. Light brown beer. A little malt and a little hops. Inoffensive but just another boring English bitter.
