This beer hails from the Lamb and Lion Inn in York, though I sampled it at The Green Man, Stamford, Lincolnshire. Gold with a small white head. Odd aroma I can only describe as burnt match. Oily, smooth, rather neutral taste, presumably malt, with a mid bitter finish. Really rather unsubtle.

[cask at the Lamb and Lion, York] Bright golden ale with decent white head. Malty aroma with not much hop in evidence. Same on the taste, pretty malt-forward for a golden ale. Some slight earthiness in evidence, together with a sharp finish. Not too bad, but I wouldn’t rush back for more than a couple [02082011]
