Drunk with Dom. There’s no magic rock in my cock. Though, that’s not what the laydeeeezzzz say. Ahem. Nicely hoppy and a bit of a treat. Abused the lovely man at the deli on the way home. Sorry Lewis, though your waistcoat was a bit poncey. Nothing wrong with poncey eh Dan?

Cask, The King’s Head, Leicester. Golden with an off white foam. Aromas are toasted malts with low woody pine and marmalade. Biscuit with brown sugar and bready yeast. Flavours are sweet, dry biscuit with bitter lemon and grapefruit. Piney with jammy fruit and spritzy yeast. Nice pithy bitterness to finish.

Cask@bridge bar bristol
Pale gold with lacing white head slight green apple in aroma and flavour, slightly chalky texture. Dry, not unpleasant, not an IPA!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask handpull, PO Vaults, Birmingham, 07/09/13. Slender loose white head over dusty orange gold. Nose old oranges furring with mould, Black Jack chews. Husky malt approaching smoke. Good stewed aniseed and old satsuma vibes; thistle sap, bags of hop character. Stood up to The Dog(Wired). Fair play.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
Zesty citrus fruitiness leads to leafy hop resins in this quenching IPA.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam tops the clear pale blond.
-The nose is more resinous than citrusy, oddly enough.
-A peachy touch appears in the middle.
-Hop profile is long and pleasant.
-Malts are quickly forgotten in this one.
-Mouthfeel is lean and clean.
On cask at The Horniman at Hay’s.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at the Windsor Castle. Light amber with a tiny head. The nose is peaches, pear, sweet summery fruits. Some brown sugar and bran muffin. The taste is robust herbal hop. Countryside grass. Light shag tobacco. Underlying sweetness. More pear and rich plum jam. Clean finish. Actually a pretty solid beer.

Sneaky little half with Bish at the Cocks in Moseley. The sunlight fell on the tap thingy and I thought, ’Great Heck, they’ve only gone and got Magic Rock in the Cocks!’. But it wasn’t, it was Great Heck, and great heck I’m glad it was cos it were bloody gorgeous. A lovely hoppy number. One to watch.

Cask conditioned handpump Southwark Tavern London 19/03/13. A blonde beer with a white head and lace. A lovely hoppy beer. Sharp spicy hops throughout and balancing pale malts. Piney aromas. Good bitterness. Very tasty.
