Cask at the Euston Tap - London. Note, after a full day of boozin’ in Birmingham. Pours black-brown with a foamy beige head. Good beer, with some dry cocoa, dark fruits. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Light earthy bitterness on the finish, some burnt wood, chocolate. Tasty mild.

Cask at the Post Office Valults, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a bubbly off white head. The aroma is dry roasted malt. The flavour is light bitter with a dry mineral earthy light sweet malt palate. Light bodied witn soft carbonation. One of the better milds I’ve had. Lots of flavour but a touch lighter than I would have liked.

Tasted this at the Troon Beer Festival on the 3rd October 2014. Cask, gravity dispense. Dull black in colour with a thin pale buff head. Dusty black malt evident in the malty aroma. Thin oily mouthfeel and no lacing. Dark malt complex gives a black toast initially which soon fades to notes of black coffee and dark bitter chocolate. There is a slight hop prickle present in the brief earthy aftertaste. Finish is malty though with strong notes of dry liquorice, black coffee and Bournville chocolate coming through in the palate. A decent session mild.

Cask @ Engineers Arms, Henlow. Dark chocolate brown. Scent of bitter roast espresso, single estate dark chocolate. Sweet taste of cherries and coffee gives way to a more muted finish. A fuller mouthfeel than most mid-strength milds. A simple but well-presented beer. Jimi would be proud.

Cask conditioned air pressure Euston Tap London 18/03/14. A dark brown beer with a whitish head. A fairly dry and slightly fruity mild. A bit nutty and really quite mild. It’s OK but expected bigger and brasher.
