4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Transfer from BA review on 3-9-13-
Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – Served an amber-orange color with a small white head. The head fades relatively fast leaving a nice level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma was quite nice although not too IPA like. It was very strong of a candied sugar aroma with some citrus and sugared fruit aromas. With these aromas are some lighter notes of a bready nature as well as the lightest bit of pine and earthy hop.
Taste – The taste begins sweet and bready with the sweetness being, just as the nose discerns, with a strong candy taste with notes of fruitiness of pear, apple, and some citrus. As the flavors advance tropical fruit flavors of tangerine and some mango and papaya hit the tongue. The candied and fruit flavors remain throughout, although they lessen as the flavor advances. While the candied flavors dwindle the hop flavors get stronger in the middle and the end. A blend of grapefruit and pine hop start making their presence more known. In the end they get much more potent where they are joined by a peppery spice leaving an interesting taste blend of a resinous and bitter yet semi sweet flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel –The body of the beer was on the creamier side with a carbonation level that was rather low. The creaminess was quite nice for blending the sugary and hoppy flavors together in harmony while the carbonation made for a nice sipping beer.
Overall – For a 9% abv brew the alcohol was very well concealed by the sweeter and hoppier flavors of the brew. While the alcohol was well hidden, it was still a nice slow drinking brew due to its resinous aftertaste and creamier body. It was a nice drinking double and one I would recommend for a try.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle. Pours a deep orange with a half finger, cream head that sticks. Aroma is big and juicy. Pine, resin, citrus, tropical fruits, bread, mango, and stonefruit. Awesome. Taste is balanced but strong. Starts out with some sweet pine and resin then moves to more citrus and tropical fruits, and finally ends with a resiny/malty finish. Medium-full body with a medium carbonation. Slightly syrupy in the mouth but still pretty drinkable. Dry finish. Overall a great beer and well worth getting. Big flavours over just enough of a backbone to make it not cloyingly sweet.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance was hazy orangish gold with creamy white diminishing 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are orange, caramel, hints of alcohol, lemon and tropical fruits. Taste are orange marmalade upfront gives way to toffee malts, then backend of lemon, spice, mango, grapefruit, honey and soft pine resin. Palate was creamy smooth CO2 with medium-full body, then lasting balanced fruity, malty glorious finish. A wonderful DIPA, I wish could try fresher.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap - Pours amber with a foamy light tan head. Nose is onion, garlic, and tropical fruit--super juicy. Sweet taste and really tropical fruity. Real sugary, with a big malty base. Slick and medium-bodied. Too sweet, but still pretty tasty.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is a phenomenal beer. It takes all the best characters of Knee Deep Simtra and mellows it out to a wonderful balance of malt, light fruitiness, and fantastic drinkability. Would definitely have this again :).

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2014 Bottle: Seemingly thick amber with copper edges, decent clarity & topped with a thick, foamy, light-beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma is tropical & fruity with mango, pineapple, & guava, alongside a more brash back-end with notes of white pepper, ashy hops, & herbal leaves. A little noticeable caramel sweetness from the heavy malt bill. Up front taste is like honey-coated tropical fruits; oranges, pineapple, apricot. Bitterness comes in & grows quick; mild vegetal notes with heavy herbal, earthy, spicy, & white pepper-y hints. Some malty buttered bread & faint caramel sweetness. Spicy, bitter hop finish, Strangely enough, as this beer warms up a little, it gets much more tropical & fruity... Grapefruit, mango, pineapple, guava, all coated in sticky sweet honey. Crazy how the flavor profile changes like that. A delicious DIPA, either way, though.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. The label lists the freshness date, abv and gives a quick description of the beer.
Appearance: It body is deep and golden in color with good clarity. It also has some nice visible carbonation which helps support its small white head. The head just hangs on and makes some cool lace rings on the glass.
Smell: The aroma is very inviting and full. It packs loads of big juicy citrus hops, juicy tropical and floral hops.
Taste / Palate: The flavor picks up on the aroma and brings it right to the palate with all the big tasty hop notes riding on good complimentary sweet bready and biscuity malt. This beer is very well balanced and easy drinking for a big Double IPA. The hops add more aroma and flavor complexity then bitterness which is still quite firm. Well done!!!
