3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours gold with a slight white head that leaves very spotty lacing. Aroma is a lot of pineapple with very light mango notes and not much else. Taste is a lot of the same while being sticky sweet with a big booze burn. Not all itís cracked up to be, but not bad.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Wegmans. Pours clear copper with a small head that is gone before you know it. There is tons of carbonation in the glass. The aroma is dominated by tropical fruit notes: pineapple, mango, orange peel, light grapefruit. The taste is a bitter hop bomb. No idea on the IBU on this but it is assertive. There is a fruity balance in there that is mostly grapefruit and maybe light pineapple. This guy is really good. Truly a standout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Mariaís Bridgeport. Dark gold color with a nice foamy head and good lacing. Smells of fruity floral hops with a citrus and pine hint. Taste is well balanced between hop and malt to produce a smooth creamy IPA taste. Medium bitters with a slight sweetness. Drinks well.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle. Amber-orange body, thin beige head. Big fresh hop aroma. Not unlike Hopslam in a lot of respects, a hint doughier maybe? Very pleasant mouthfeel, hop flavors cover a broad spectrum of flavors, from piny to tropical. Excellent beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(bottle) Pours a semi-clear orange color with a medium white head that retains well and leaves a lot of lacing. Steady march of carbonation. Aroma is not as expressive as I figured it would be, but whatís here is pretty pleasant. Citrus takes the main stage, with orange being the most notable scent, although it doesnít smell exactly like a fresh orange; itís more artificial, like powdered Tang. Not sure if the alcohol is contributing to this, but that also is noticeable. There are little glimmers of lime and lemon zest that pop in from time to time, and these smell generally authentic. I enjoy how these zest scents alternate from one to the other. Further warming leads to the beer developing a more earthy and herbal edge, and it begins to smell like an herbal tea (Evening in Missoula). Flavor holds papaya, mango, and even a streak of kiwi. Tastes a little like a pink starburst candy towards the finish. This flavor really carries on even after drinking. I donít often get these kind of fruit flavors, so Iíd say this hop is pretty unique. Thereís a bit of malt here lurking in the background, but itís harder to perceive as the hops are being showcased as they should. Thereís also a substantial amount of alcohol here that does scatter and clash with the flavors a bit. Overall Iím generally not too impressed with GLís hoppier offerings, but this is a really solid DIPA that was very unique in my opinion.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2014 Poured from a 12oz bottle. Aroma is tropical fruit, melon, grapefruit, and citrus. Flavors are tropical fruit, melon, citrus, grapefruit, and a light sweet malt. Mosaic hops dominate the nose and the flavor, very solid double Ipa, itís got a light alcohol burn and a little too sweet. Still a very solid offering from Great Lakes!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2014 Pours a darker orange color with a minimal head that dissipates right away and leaves a thin ring of lacing. Smells of tons of peaches, light juicy orange, mango, maybe some papaya or guava, stonefruit, along with some carmel from the malt, and light honey. Somewhat dry aroma. Taste starts with lots of sweet, juicy fruits. Peach, mango, papaya, and some grapefruit. Sweetness from the honey shows through already. The middle brings more honey sweetness as well as some carmel malts that really balance the fruity hops. Starting to get the resinous bitterness from the nugget hops. The finish a wonderful combination of fruity hops, sweetness, and slight bitterness. Lots of juicy peach, mango, some tangerine, stonefruit, grapefruit peel, honey, and carmel. Slightly dry and bitter, but the sweetness cuts the bitterness wonderfully. Full body with a creamy and oily mouthfeel. The mosaic hop never disappoints, and the nugget hops provide a nice resinous bitterness to contrast the fruity qualities of the mosaic hops. Hoppy, yet very balanced and the flavors the hops bring are pretty complex. Excellent double ipa.
