Nice copper colored ale with a light creamy sheet. Smells like BO, apricot, peaches, resin, some pine and sweet malts. Nice nose. Flavor is malt, some cracker, some tea and peach. Overall the taste is more malty than I enjoy in a DIPA, but has a herbal character that seems appealing. medium on full bodied with moderate carb and a wet finish. Overall the beer isnít bad, but nothing special. In fact, Iíd recommend this for somebody that really loves DFH beers, seems to fall in line with their style.

Amber with a creamy and rocky bone crown. Aroma is dank with grapefruit, citrus, mango, bready malt and caramel. Taste of floral and vineous hops, grapefruit, tropical fruits, mild resinous hops and caramel. Decent and a bit boozy with a high bitter finish

Pour on tap, hazy orange pour with thin white head, aroma brought big orange, grapefruit, nice bittering grass and pine notes, slight caramel in there with a hint of orange peel as well, smells very nice and hop forward. Taste is a mix of grass, grain hints of bread, into big orange, sweet pineapple, mango and grapefruit into some pine notes, touch of spice and yeast, finishing fairly bitter, dry. Nice.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A: Amber/Golden Straw Hue, Passes Some Light, Thick White Head, Outstanding Lacing
S: Citrus, Floral, Biscuits
T: Citrus, Honey, Mildly Floral
M: Outstanding Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Mildly Drying, Mildly Sweet
Overall, a pretty nice DIPA where it gets lighter on the hoppy side and heavier on the sweeter side with the honey used. A different take on the DIPA and a nice change but not the best DIPA ever.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber color. Medium-sized rocky white head. Rich sweet malt aroma with a big pine hop bouquet. Huge bittersweet toasted malt flavor has a complex hop bill. I detect notes of citrus, pine, tropical fruit and chewy, resiny bitterness. The 9.4% alcohol is easily lost in this complex menagerie of malt and hop flavor. Despite the huge flavors here, there is a sense of balance that allows for a wonderful warming and spicy bitter finish. Nice clinging lace stays through to the finish.

Pretty sweet and sharp. Approaching the point where I think the malts might be overwhelming... but the hops nicely balance it out. Iím a fan of this brew, but not as much as some other people on this forum (even if you include the bonus pro-bono cleveland pride points!)

Citrus, spruce, mocha all you can ask for in a IPA. This is up there with the Double Jack, Hercules, Big A IPA and Shipwrecked if like those you will love this!! Stay thirsty my freinds

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark amber pour with a large light tan head. Aroma of herbal hops with an alcohol (impy). light sweetness (p.4%abv), lightly bitter, average carbonation, slight bitter finish. Good double ipa, I would prefer more hops in the taste.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
12oz bottle for $3. Drink by 5/21/13. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint glass.
Appearance: A nice orange color with about a finger or two of a creamy, off-white head. Lacing is great. Active carbonation running through the glass. Alchemy Hour also has a slight hop haze to it.
Smell: Interesting. On one whiff it has a lot of piney aromas with some alcohol, and on the next it smells like mangoes and pineapple... a lot of sweetness.
Taste/feel: The bottle claims that this is a really sweet beer, but it really isnít. It has a good bit of it, but the hops and alcohol detract from that a little bit. I donít usually like the taste of alcohol in most of my beers, but it works here. Thereís a slight burn on the finish, and the lingering sweet malt with the spiciness from the hops after having the fresh burst at the beginning is really, really nice. The feel of Alchemy Hour is nice as well -- pretty creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I was actually expecting a pricklier beer judging by the appearance, but it isnít too intense.
As usual, Great Lakes Brewing impresses. Alchemy Hour DIPA is probably their second best beer or so (after Edmund Fitzgerald), though itís hard to really pick a favorite. This is an easy drinking beer, even with that slight alcohol burn on the finish. A very, very good representation of the style.
