3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Maddog (362) - Kettering, Ohio, USA - FEB 21, 2013Bottle from Dorthy Land Market. The pour is clear orange with a fresh pine hop aroma. The flavor is good, just different. Very piney with a bitter finish, and it is indeed fresh. But, it also finishes a tad hot with a medicinal taste to it. Maybe the rough edges will smooth a little over the months. Let’s hope.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20 ContemplateBeer (1140) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Aroma of moderate grapefruit, sweet toffee and caramel. Appearance is copper with sticky tan head. Flavor matches the nose; quite hoppy, but also quite sweet. Palate is medium, chewy and soft. Didn’t get the hype on this one.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Panzuriel (1182) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Alchemy Hour pours a slightly hazy bright copper with a small head of tiny white bubbles. Nose is a heady mix of citrus and pine hops. Body is very lively. Taste is bright grapefruit with a bit of cut grass. Finishes with just a touch of bitters and maybe a touch of apricot.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 crajun (686) - , Texas, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Received in trade from umich03. Thx Jason. I am not the biggest dipa fan and for me this wasn’t enjoyable. Not nearly as good as hopslam or Surly Not much aroma a little funk maybe. Taste was grapefruit and hops not greatly balanced. Meh

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ataraxia (160) - Massachusetts, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Deep golden orange, dense white head. Slightly sweet aroma of mango, peach, orange, and other citrus fruits. Much stronger sweetness in the taste, followed by moderate bitterness. Smooth, medium-bodied, and a little bit of booziness.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Jesterdeal (1043) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Aroma of sweet skunky bud, strong ruby red grapefruit, and grass with a booze undertone. Pours deep thick orange with foamy head. Tastes of citrus, tart grass, and zesty booze. Great stuff.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pineypower (2148) - Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Bottle from Canal’s. Pours an attractive, clear amber color with a nice fluffy white head. Aroma is of citrus, floral hops, some caramel and light fruity notes. Taste is citrus/floral bitter hops, light orange, some lightly sweet, sticky honey, bread, lingering bitterness, but not enough for my liking. ABV well hidden; would have liked to try this fresher, as the bottle’s "drink by" date was not far in the future from when I had this.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Boutip (3971) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 6, 2013
Bottle: Poured a deep amber/orangey color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of fruity hoppy notes with light citrus notes as well with some residual sugar. Taste is also dominated by fruity ester with fruity hops notes and some citrus undertones with some light residual sugar notes. Malt backbone is solid and provides a nice smooth aftertaste. Body is quite full with good carbonation, Solid rendition of the style with good effort to limit the amount of bitterness in the aftertaste.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 5000 (4974) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Bottle: Amber, a little fiery, moderate to large frothy sandy head, nice lacing. Soft hop nose, a touch of citrus peel, a touch of pine. Really subdued on the nose. On the tongue... WOW, this is smooth and really nice. Nice malty background with citrusy hops that aren’t all that biting. This one is not overly bitter, and much smoother than most. Full bodied, smooth and creamy mouthfeel. You can take a big mouthfull of this one and slowly enjoy a few gulps without thinking (unlike most IIPAs) that the bitterness will get ya before ya finish. So smooth and clean. What else can I say.... oh man, this is good!   Bonus point for overall cleanliness and just being utterly f**king smooth.   Thanks Kevin!
3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Braudog (5025) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Bottle. Pure, shiny amber. The head is like an angry sea of foam. The mellow aroma only hints at the relatively robust, viscous malt of this beer, like a mild furniture polish. Goes down awful smooth, with a bit of hoppy resin to top it off. (#5006, 5/5/2013)
