Inspired by the rabble-rouser and mischief-maker in all of us, Tripel Dog Dare is a bratty little instigator. Can you handle it? Come on, take a sip. We dare you, you chicken. It takes a special kind of person to appreciate the bold complexity of a Belgian-styleTripel. Is that a challenge you’re willing to walk away from? Of course not, you brave adventurer. After all, unlike sticking your tongue to a frozen flagpole, engaging in a violent game of red rover, or chucking snowballs in a frosty battle royal, sipping Tripel Dog Dare offers a much more satisfying reward.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2015 Tap @ Great Lakes: Semi clear toasted amber body with not much head, just a small tan ring. Aroma of slightly spicy yeast, bubblegum, Candi sugar, some vague fruity esters, a touch of musty straw. Flavor is really gummy & sweet. Plums, grape, light apple, some spicy Belgian yeast notes, white pepper, hint of cardamom. Touch of vanilla, phenols, & toasted straw near the finish. Lingering residual sugars. Oily body.

Tap at Jacs. Unfiltered orange-copper body. Big steady off-white head. Big clove tastes. A little deeper, darker malts than most Tripels. Yeasty smoothness. A very nice US-Belgian. Big fruity dry yeast esters. Sweet, rich, well executed. Well balanced. Nice depth. The only thing lacking is the belgo-champagne effervescence.

This one poured a bright dark yellow to orange with a whit ehead. Aroma was of belgian spices, candy sugar, and mild fruit undertones. Flavorw as on the sweeter side, pretty clean for an americain tripel, just not really my thang.

[Tap] Muddy orange color with a small cap of head. Excellent looking lacing. Aromas of Belgian yeast, clove and grainy malts. Taste includes more clove, nutmeg, vanilla, cereal grains, banana, dough, residual sweetness, toasted breads and darker fruits like plum. Nice complexity. Rich body. Originally I thought the balance between yeast/malt seemed a little off, but this beer really grew on me as I drank it.
