3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Had on tap at GLBC. Dark rust colored pour with big foamy white head. The aroma is hop and a bit of citrus but is predominately dark malts and a little sweetness. The flavor was too sweet for my preference in an IPA and even the beer was fairly bitter it didn’t balance the sweetness at all.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Great Lakes. Dark brownish amber color with off-white head. Aroma and flavor are really hoppy with slight malt and caramel notes. Very bitter but lacking the fruitiness I like in an IPA.

dark reddish brown, not black, with large white head. nose of medium to dark crystal malt. some bitterness before some citrus hopes and a ton of dark crystal malt with a lot of residual sweetness leaving this somewhat cloying and not overly pleasant, out of style for a black ipa
