Sampled on tap at the brewhouse. A nicely well crafted brew with a strong hop palate and smooth malts. The appearance is nice with a dark brown hue and little froth of foam.

looks like a stout in the glass. surprisingly, when first opened and too cold, the aroma was mostly stout - roasty malt and chocolate. On warming the hop content became discernable.Similar experience with taste, when cold seemed like slightly hoppy porter. On warming, the ipa character began to peak through the roasty clouds. Can’t find a bottling date on this bomber.

A really bitter one, more roasty than ipa, basically hop bitterness with malt bitterness, a good evolution of the style.

On tap at Misconduct, drank while watching some NCAA March Madness. Pours deep oily black with a tannish small head. Aroma is spice, pine, some citrus and roast. Taste is sweet with a nice bitter finish. Smooth mouth feel. Excellent

Sample at the brewpub on 3/9/12. Darkest brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of grassy and piney hops, along with some roasted malt. Malty and chocolatey flavor up front with a good amount of roast before a citrusy and piney hop finish.

Supposedly usually only available at the brewpub in Cleveland. Had on draft at Archers pub in Centerville, OH as their Wed night tapping for 3/7/2012. They only had a 5gal keg, so only got to have one... It was gone in about 20min. Smells wonderful. Like a Christmas Tree. Unlike most "black / cascadian" IPAs I have had though. This one is more MALTY with subtle hints of chocolate. Almost like a hopped up Porter. Very smooth, very drinkable.

Tap at the brewpub. Toasted malt and hop on the nose. Small head. Taste is toasty, chocolate, and hop. Really good.
