A Russian Imperial Stout with a hearty malt body and bold hop flavor.

Huge thanks to Degarth for giving me this 12oz bottle sent south by crizay. Pours dark brown with a quarter inch mocha head. It has a Porter like aroma with burnt to roasted maltiness along with hints of alcohol and sweet caramelized malts. The taste has a big burnt maltiness up front that hits hard along with dark chocolate. The flavor becomes increasingly sweet toward midway with hints of caramel, toffee and sweet malts. Toward the finish the burnt malts return and carry the experience into the after taste. Solid tasting Imperial Stout.

I finally tried it and I was not let down. It pours black as night, thin head, I smell chocolate but I taste dark coffee and, it finishes just slightly bitter. This beer kicks ass.

black, thin tan head, huge sweet roasted aroma with lots of ripe fruit, huge malt flavor, lots of ripe fruit, roasted and chocolate malts well represented,

lasting thin brown head with a bit of lace, sweet ripe fruit aroma with the roasted taking a back seat, smooth sweet body, flavor is all ripe fruit, light bitterness in the finish, the special B of imperial stouts, this not like an imperial stout at all, too much ripe fruit character rather than the roasted malts, I love it

more roasted and hop flavor, swinging back to an imperial stout, need to do more samples at various age points to see where the fruit appears and how it progresses

350 ml bottle mail order from Archerliquor. Blak with fizzy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, alcohol, and a pungent earthy spice that I can’t quite place. Chocolate covered fruit taste with a slight bitterness.

12 oz bottle from MrBendo. Brewed 2007. Nearly all black pour with a bit of reddish tone, with a nice 1/2 inch khaki head that fades pretty quickly. Aroma is roasted coffee and some sharp licorice hoppiness. Taste is initially espresso roast coffee, middle is nutty maltiness, the finish is more coffee and hop bitter finish. The alcohol is almost completely masked in this one. A very nice beer, as it warms, the taste becomes more balanced and very smootg. Thanks Todd.

from sam’s chicago thanks for the sample piere(o) appropriate black shade has minimal tan froth on the top. pronounced fruity nose is quite sweet. kind of grapey with fresh cut plums turning up as well. velvety mouth feel compliments a sweet start with plum and licorice flavors appearing. hints of milk chocolate enter the picture and the finish is crisp and dry
