Commercial Description:
A Russian Imperial Stout with a hearty malt body and bold hop flavor.
Named after the infamous "Blackout of 2003" that left the northeastern United States in complete darkness, but resulted in old-fashioned neighborhood porch parties and fun.
Available in February & March.

Very dark body - viscous with a very thin head. Aroma of roasted malts, cocoa beans, and a hint of smoke. Flavor was deep and warming - strong maltiness, lots of roasted character with a touch of coffee, smoke & bitterness at the end. Fairly smooth with a bit of alcohol sting.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of ebbies7 (thanks!). Black with small bit of tan head. Definitely let this one warm up, as the aroma was pretty muted at first. Smelled of roasted malts and coffee predominantly. Taste was more of the same, but with more chocolate flavor and alcohol. Finish is relatively bitter. Palate wasn’t terribly thick though. Pretty good impy, but a little too boozy in the taste. I’ll have to try it again some time.

Bottle sampled with stegosaurus. Pours a motor oil black with a small brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, and coffee.Flavor is similar to aroma with a nice hop bitterness. A decent stout

Strong alcohol presence which i always find enjoyable. A very good malt and hop balance. I plan on having many more of these delicious beers.

Beautiful dark color. Rich flavor full of coffee and chocolate notes with maybe some fruitiness. Nice hoppy notes in the aroma and flavor to balance the malt.

Malt, alcohol, and a hint of coffee on the nose. Malt and hops are very well balanced on the taste buds, and some roasted coffee flavor comes through also. Palate is somewhat creamy, somewhat syrupy. Really good stuff.

Nice brew here. I have had this a few times now, and I keep coming back to it. Nothing too crazy here, great roasty coffee flavor, some chocolate, nice and creamy, with a great hop backbone. Very well balanced and drinkable.
