Pours a nice thcik syrupy oily black with a thin lasting tan head, fades to a film. Aroma is roasty twith tons of chocolate sweetness, some toffee and light coffee hints. Lots of sweet chocolate flavors, somewhat nutty, good roast and acrid character and a nice hoppy profile with good bitterness. Thick luscious mouthfeel with a bit too much sweetness- almost artificial like some of thier other beers, finishing a bit slick. Nice. jackson220 (136), new lenox, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 23, 2007 Bottle...ok quite a few bottles! Pitch black pour with a cream colored head. Nose is just remarkable. Had to double take on it. Deep roasted flavors coming from a medium bodied brew. All the requisites are there. Bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee. Excellent rendition. Shout 4 this Stout!!!!! JAXSON (234), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 22, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours black, obviously, with a creamy, pretty good sized head. Aroma is espresso and burnt malt. Flavor is the same, with a little chocolate. The flavor takes a moment to kick in. When you feel the creamy texture with burnt aftertaste, the best qualities of thie beer shine. The finish is long and creamy, rather like Speedway Stout. There is too little complexity in the front, however. Nice one. mhoster56 (34), Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 22, 2007 Quite enjoyable. The molasses overtones are nothing short of phenomenal. For being nine percent alcohol, the beer is exceedingly drinkable, as more than one could be consumed in an evening without being deemed, excessive. The roasted coffee flavors linger on the consumer’s palate for an extended duration after each sip. The aroma leaves something to be desired though. Even at nigh room temperature, only a faint hint of coffee or dark chocolate can be detected. Nevertheless, this beer serves as a fine example of an imperial stout.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Pours black with a tan lingering head. Smells of chocolate and coffee with some vegetal qualities. Taste is unusual with lots of chocolate, sugar and spice. Finish is lightly bitter and chocolatey. Nephilium (547), Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 20, 2007 This pours almost black, with a thin tan head. The aroma is hints of chocolate and coffee, with a hint of alcohol hiding behind it. It starts with a thick sweet flavor, with a finish leading into the hops. The alcohol content is hidden in the flavor, without looking, I would not have guessed this was a 9%’er. Not a bad stout. OldGrowth (1408), North Carolina, USA
