LeopoldStoch (201), Green, Ohio, USA Sep 3, 2006 Huge roasted aroma dominates the smell of this beer. It smells very good! A little bit of grassy hops comes through in the nose as well. Decent moouthfeel, perhaps just little bit thin, but in no way does it really distract from all the good things going on this beer. Coffee and roasted bitterness in the flavor and maybe a little bit of bakers chocolate, but just a hint of it. Overall this is a really good beer, and i can wait to have the BA on tap at the release party. gputty (456), Virgina Beach, Virginia, USA Sep 3, 2006 From bottle thanks to Immy. Pours black with coffee head and nice lacing. Nose is chocolate covered espresso beans and dark, over ripened fruits. Flavor follows. Palate is thick, smooth with a little alcohol heat in the finish. Excellent. SilkTork (4156), Rochester, Kent, England Sep 3, 2006 Kook’s Farewell Gathering. Very hoppy, but the underlying stout is pleasantly roasty. Sweet. Mmmm. Coffee aroma. Nice. A very tasty strong stout. daveco67 (18), Marion, Iowa, USA Aug 28, 2006 Black as night in color. Good roasted and coffee aroma. Nice mouth feel. Good full body roasted malt flavor. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 27, 2006 Dark black body with a small creamy light brown head. Sweet roasted malt and coffee aroma. Sweet roasted malt flavor, some gentle chocolate, a bit of coffee and some fruity hints. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 27, 2006 Big thanks to the anon. RBer who sent this to me. Beautiful dark brown/black body with a thin, creamy, tan head. Great aroma, light roasted coffee beans, some sweet fruits with a light malt component. Awesome taste, roasted malts, black cherry, light hops. Light grassy ending, some malts as well with a light hop accent. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Aug 25, 2006 Updated: Jan 25, 200712 oz bottle from RegallacMc (thanks Paul!). Beer pours out a semi-thick and very black color with a tint of mahoganey. Average size tan head. Not much lace after head leaves. Nice typical Imp stout aroma. A myriad of flavors here. Plum, raisin, roasted coffee and caramel. Somewhat chalky dry finish, a tad bit hoppy, with a lingering roasted licorice aftertaste. My ONLY criticism is that it could stand to be thicker as it is only medium-bodied. This is still a great stout. TheDean (785), MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 23, 2006 Wow, this is by far one of the best stouts I’ve had in a while. Just an overall incredible beer. Thanks to my friend who was good enough to give me this.
