Commercial Description:
A Russian Imperial Stout with a hearty malt body and bold hop flavor.
Named after the infamous "Blackout of 2003" that left the northeastern United States in complete darkness, but resulted in old-fashioned neighborhood porch parties and fun.
Available in February & March.

From the bottle, courtesy of Secret Santa 07, pours black with a nice tan foamy head, not much on lacing. Strong aroma of alcohol, dark malt, some coffee, black cherries? Rich and creamy taste, alcohol is there, as well as chocolate malt, black cherries. Great beer here. Thanks, Santa!

many bottles by way of many good folks on this site... this one is BB 8/18/8. pours pretty close to black with a creamy light tan head. rich roasty aroma with notes of chocolate, cooked cream, woody and dark dried fruits. the palate is a bit on the sweet side for me but it gives way toward the end as some acidity breaks through. the flavor is quite robust and rich... woody, cocoa, cooked cream, yeast and coffee nuttiness. light acidic finish though it never really dries out. medium to full bodied, smooth mouth feel and terribly easy to drink a lot...

Bottle. Pours nearly black with a thick off-white head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, coffee and molasses with a bit of hop. Flavor of dark malts, dark fruit and coffee with a bit of smoke. Great mouthfeel. This is a great Imperial stout that hides it’s alcohol well.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark black. Thin, light brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla. Initially sweet mouthfeel gives way to bitter coffee flavor with hints of dark fruit. Long bitter finish. What a great beer.

bottle. pours oily black, moderate brown head. aroma of bakers chocolate. flavor is dominated by licorice and burnt molasses flavors. the dark roasted malt give is an edge, but as far as alcohol is concerned its fairly smooth. enjoyable. i prefer them more in the dry coffee range, but its a well made beer for sure.

Pours black, had a dark creme colored head. Aroma is full of roasted malts with chocolate and coffee tinges to it. Taste is full of flavor, chocolate followed by roasted, almost burnt, coffee rounded off with a slight bitterness. Smooth on the tongue and easy to drink.
