3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a very solid stout. I think it would be excellent with a little age on it. A bit pricey.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
FROM NOTES: November 29, ’13 on draft into a snifter at the Black Friday event @ Kraftrwork, Philly.
A: Roastiness mixed with some sweetness, vanilla notes and a slight hop aroma. A very nice chocolate backbone but the hint of a metallic aroma lingers.
A: Dark, almost black appearance (nearly opaque) with a small medium-dense head.
T: Coffee-forward with roasted malt and milk chocolate notes. Dark fruits, raisins, figs, a hint of dark cherry are apparent as the beer warms and more milk chocolate on a long finish. Nicely balanced.
P: Medium-light body and medium-high carbonation.
O: Overall, a tasty, well balanced stout. Smells a little oxidized, but a wonderful version of an Imperial Russian Stout

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at GLBC. Nice color, raven feather black, has a oily sheen on top the pitch black stout after the thick tan head died. Real nice aromas of roasted malts. Flavor is truly what stout lovers look for, milk chocolate, bitter coffee grinds to help balance all the sweet roasted malts. Has a longer lingering chocolate and coffee finish. This is a stout I would drink often if it was available to me. Mouthfeel is indeed creamy with the body being full and hearty. This drinks so easy, never guess it was 9% ABV. This is a game winning touchdown for this brewery! Real flavorful and I enjoyed the hell out of this beer.

4.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Poured from bottle into tulip glass.
Another great beer from what is becoming one of my favorite breweries. And I love that it’s Ohio made!
Aroma is malt, coffee, bread, yeast, alcohol. Pours a dark mahogany with a pretty good tan head. Lots of lacing. Tastes of coffee, molasses, malt, nuts, a hint of soy. Really good balance of sweet and bitter. Full and rich mouthfeel, creamy sticky texture. A nice amount of carbonation. Fairly long coffee finish. I’ve been wanting to try this for awhile and definitely lived up to my hopes!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a normal RIS dark black, with a slightly brown head. Good amount of lacing left on the glass. Living in ohio and drinking a sh*t ton a GLB beer, I am on to there house yeast strain. With this beer is works very well. You get a bready, doughy, yeast aroma, along with chocolate. Taste is on the sweet side, with chocolate being the dominant malt flavor, some coffee, hops, and dough. Silky smooth, good sipping beer. Once again, another great beer from the city up north.
