Aroma is sweet and fruity - treefruit and a bit of banana - with very light campfire and kerosene, and earthy chili heat as it warms. Taste follows, sweeter as it warms, light alcohol - is there really horseradish in this? We doubt it. Average body, decent carbonation, light smokey astringency in the finish. Apparently there is horseradish in it - well, I could smell it! Nice and interesting.

Crisp yellow body, small white head. 3+ Smokey aroma pale malt, muted horseradish may be partly psychological. 6++ Flavour is similar, modest smoke throughout, bit of horseradish if you look for it and light bitterness. Surprisingly mild compared to what I expected but not really to my own tastes. Average bodied palate. Bottle from the brewery.

[4819-20120922] Tap. Mild yeasty aroma. Clear, light yellow brown body with a quick creamy white head. Mildly smoky wood plank grains flavour has a distinct horseradish note but not too much. Medium body is a little bitter. Really interesting, good. (6/3/7/3/14) 3.3

Draught at Bar Hop. Pours a hazy orange-copper with an average size semi-lasting frothy white head. Aroma of grain, fruit, light smoke, bready malt, light sugary sweetness and herbs. Flavour has a lot more smoke then the aroma suggests followed by grain, fruit, bready malt and yeast. A bit sweet and a touch funky. Medium bodies. An interesting beer, I enjoyed it.

On tap. Hazy golden pour, delicate white head. Bready and yeasty aroma. Slightly funky. Medium and soft body. Not overwhelming on the horseradish (very mild spiciness in the aftertaste), but I’m assured its in there. A little sour throughout, medium sour finish with a little green apple tartness. Nice well balanced saison with a little kick.
