COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our version of a west coast pale ale pushes the boundaries much like the crazy canucks of the past. We’ve brewed it for those who enjoy adventure and a departure from the ordinary. The result is a wildly hoppy aroma and lingering bitterness complemented by a soft bready malt flavour.

Another bomber from Great Lakes Brewing, and a Canadian tribute for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Pours a rich golden colour with an off-white head that is fluffy, with decent retention and dry bubbly lacing. Great grain malt scent (I recognize the same malt found in Steam Whistle and some other pils) at first, and then, the hop appears. An awesome pairing of both. Silky smooth mouthfeel with a little stick in the end. Wicked bitterness the whole way which rules my mouth. Nice grain aftertaste with the hop always present. I really enjoy this brew and will buy some more for the Olympics. A superb pale ale. Great Lakes seems to be impressing more and more, every time they release a new offering.

gift bottle, Thanks. enjoyed with Sly Fox rep Cory at Coles. Lighter to medium copper colored pour. Deecnt CPA. sort of mix of an english pale & american Pale. Milder hop bitterness, balanced, lighter mouthfeel. some pine hops. Not sure about the West coast aspect but still decent

65 cl bottle, Mulmur, ON, Canada. Frothy head, hazy pale golden colour. Promising aroma of spiced apricot. Rather carbonated, a nice floral spruce flavor comes through. Sharp on the finish, quite nice.

This is probably the best GLB beer that I’ve ever had. Pours a dirty yellow with a nice white head. Aroma is hop and malt. Taste is a blast of hop bitterness with some citrus and malt notes. A little off balance and the bitterness is a little overpowering. But all in all, a great step forward in the IPA/APA development in Ontario.

bottle. Poured clear copper with a rocky off-white lasting head. Inviting floral hop aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a creamy texture. Flavours of caramel, grapefruit and a lingering herbal hoppiness throughout . I’m not a huge fan of APAs but I could drink this one.

650ml bomber poured into a nonic pint glass... Clear golden colour to the body. The beige head is pretty rich, with good retention and some lacing. The aroma has a good balance between pine-like and citrus-like hops. Some fruitiness (apples, plums, oranges). A bit of toffee or butterscotch. Taste: Some pine and citrus (grapefruit and orange), then an immediate wave of bitter hoppiness. A bit of toffeish sweetness and fruitiness. The finish is very dry and quite bitter, with some lingering pine notes. Not bad at all, but could be more aromatic to better counterbalance the bittering hops. Medium-body. Kind of sticky and resiny. Moderate-to-mild carbonation. Not very smooth, but appropriate for the style. The drinkability is good. This is a very sessionable beer, provided you’re a hop-head or just someone who tolerates the dry bitterness. Overall, this is a pretty good APA; definitely the hoppiest beer from the Great Lakes Brewery.

Appearance : clear , crystal bright with large creamy , foamy top. Ring of lace on glass.4-
Nose: Bittering hops up front , bit of malt. Clean.
Flavor/Palate : Mid body , mid low carbonation with harsher sides. Clean bitter finish. Bitter leafy front, refreshing qualities, drinkable with fine finish. Proper bitterness, not full IPA, more of less crystal oriented amber ale.

Bottle: Poured a medium copper color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of floral and lightly bitter hops is interesting. Taste is also dominated by some notes of floral and bitter hops with traces of pines and a decent caramel malt backbone. Body is about average with good carbonation. Missing some hops but still very drinkable.
