3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
650ml bomber poured into a nonic pint glass...
Clear golden colour to the body. The beige head is pretty rich, with good retention and some lacing.
The aroma has a good balance between pine-like and citrus-like hops. Some fruitiness (apples, plums, oranges). A bit of toffee or butterscotch.
Taste: Some pine and citrus (grapefruit and orange), then an immediate wave of bitter hoppiness. A bit of toffeish sweetness and fruitiness. The finish is very dry and quite bitter, with some lingering pine notes. Not bad at all, but could be more aromatic to better counterbalance the bittering hops.
Medium-body. Kind of sticky and resiny. Moderate-to-mild carbonation. Not very smooth, but appropriate for the style.
The drinkability is good. This is a very sessionable beer, provided you’re a hop-head or just someone who tolerates the dry bitterness. Overall, this is a pretty good APA; definitely the hoppiest beer from the Great Lakes Brewery.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a light strawberry blonde with a huge white head and tufts of pillowy lacing. Nose of sweet malts, pine and hops. Light carbonation. Taste is straight ahead astringent bitterness with some hops up front, but not overly floral. A refreshing brew with quick bitter finish. Compared to my favourite IPAs, a standard pale just doesn’t cut it, but it would be a great cold beer on a hot day.

Yummy! Surprised about the low scores as well.
650ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a golden honey color, smells mostly of caramel with a bit of hops, but the taste is all hops for me at least. A semi dense white head that disappers quickly.. A little lacing on the glass. Really enjoyable! A pleasant surprise.
Had to come back to re-edit, left a pretty bitter aftertaste once the beer is gone.. gives you some brutal breath

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A "nice" summer beer if there ever was one. This West Coast Pale Ale has a deep golden colour with a nice white head. Aroma is of hops and citrus, exactly what you would expect. Palate has a clean finish, nothing overpowering or too much in the way of a "wow" factor, but it’s certainly solid. A nice mix of citrus fruits and hops going down. Overall this is a good beer, one that will be a go-to in the future for your average beer drinking day.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Pours a clear golden orange with a fluffy white head with moderate lacing. Aroma is citrusy grapefruit followed by butter popcorn (diacetyl). Taste is bitter, not really feeling the malt, lingering bitterness, a bit of butter. Mouthfeel is a bit harsh and dry. I sure hope Canadian athletes fair better at the 2010 games than this beer. Hopefully Great Lakes can fix the diacetyl problem, because the butter flavor just ruins this beer.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours Gold with a long lasting white head. Aroma of Sweet malts, hints of citrus and pine. Hops are not to bitter, but certainly noticeable, and there is some slight sweetness coming from the citrus. I think all the elements are there, it just didn’t come together very well

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
REALLY enjoyed this one. Maybe simplistic, but looked and tasted like a wheatbeer crossed with the hoppy IPA. Malty and spicy at first, but then just enough tartness to clean your palate. Not too heavy and not bloaty aftertaste.
