COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Itís been said that ďCanada is the only country in the world that knows how to live without an identity.Ē This beer doesnít help much with that crisis. From the fiercely irresponsible stereotypical image on the front of the can to the distinctly American style of the beer inside it Ė weíve really made a mess of things. What have we done? Sorry.

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2010 Hello Ontario! 22oz bottle from LCBO. Pours a lovely, clear golden. Aroma is indeed buttery and sharp with hops. The taste is well worked. Floral, citrusy hops evident with a bready malt backing. Good lingering bitterness in the finish. I would also agree that this does remind me of Tankhouse but I wasnít put off by the butteriness (is that a word?). The patriotic angle might just be shrewd, especially during the Olympics. Go Canada Go.

neongolden (1193) - LinkŲping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 26, 2012
(473mL can from LCBO) Poured cool, a slightly hazy medium gold with a rocky white head that faded quickly. Aroma citrus-dominated, some grapefruit in particular, faint malt. Flavour again hoppy, a little malty sweetness at first but strongly grapefruit pith, citrus, quenching and a little acidic. Moderate bitterness coming in, finishes tinny and dry. Body fairly lightweight, high soda-pop carbonation, Not too complex but a very refreshing summer pale ale.

473ml can from LCBO. Aroma: tropical fruits, pineapples, oranges. App: hazy golden, small white ring in the middle. Taste and palate: medium body, resinous, average carbonation, clean light bitter finish. Overall: not bad but finish is too clean for me and not enough bitter.

650mL bomber from the likbo. Pours a nice copperish gold, paler than I was expecting. Large, rocky white froth. Aroma is mild but nice, some good hops upfront with non-typical Ontario malts backing them up. The flavour I actually find quite pleasing, lots of hoppyness upfront with some bitterness, descending into some mild but tasty biscuity toffee malt notes. Very tasty, reminds me of Sgt. Majorís when itís on. Some minor butter like others have mentioned but itís honestly so subtle and drowned out by the good aspects I can hardly see how it could be considered a major flaw. This is probably my favourite GL brew Iíve had to date and I will definitely purchase more, because itís so tasty but also to support a micro brewer while f***ing Molsonís has its usual stiffling strangle hold on the Olympics. Very good effort, I must have a particularly good bottle since I donít completely comprehend the mediocre over-all rating, but to each their own as the saying goes. Not really a west-coast pale ale so complaints against the advertising are legitimate. On itís own itís a solid beer so I hope they just adjust the blurb on what itís ísupposedí to be.

Sample from tall can. Gold colour with decent white head. Aroma is grapefruit and some mild pine and floral. Taste is strong west coast hops without being too bitter and some mild light malt. Body is crisp and light without being too thin. Overall, almost an IPA in hops but lighter in body and malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle. Poured clear copper with a rocky off-white lasting head. Inviting floral hop aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a creamy texture. Flavours of caramel, grapefruit and a lingering herbal hoppiness throughout . Iím not a huge fan of APAs but I could drink this one.

I tried this beer on June 10, 2011 after purchasing from the Queenís Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer pours a translucent light golden amber with a this rocky tan coloured cap. The aroma is bready malt, and citrusy hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is primarily citrusy hops, grain, and an odd perfumy flavour.

500ml can. Pours a clouded, slightly muddy, copper with a one finger, off-white head that thins but leaves great lacing. Carbonation can be seen rising to the top. Looks great. Aroma is slightly faint but still very nice. Notes of citrus, pine, flowers, fruit, especially grapefruit, and a hint of bread. Taste is a balanced bitter with a short, slightly dry, aftertaste. Medium body with a medium carbonation. Clean, crisp feel Iím the mouth. Very nice and well worth a try. Would but again. Bitter but not overdone.
