COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s been said that “Canada is the only country in the world that knows how to live without an identity.” This beer doesn’t help much with that crisis. From the fiercely irresponsible stereotypical image on the front of the can to the distinctly American style of the beer inside it – we’ve really made a mess of things. What have we done? Sorry.

My experience with this beer was very disappointing. The aroma that first hit me was not apealing to me. First taste had the hint of bitterness that I enjoy but then I was hit with the flavour of bad grapefruit. Totaly turned me off. Could not finish my glass. Only the second beer ever that I could not finish

Pours clear medium gold with two fingers of fluffy white head diminishing gradually to a thick cap, patchy lacing (4/5). Nose is bright citrus and mango, light resin and pine, with a light caramel and bready malt background (8/10). Taste is low sweetness and moderate to strong citrusy bitter, building pepperiness (8/10). Light to medium body, moderate to low sustained carbonation, lingering bitter finish (5/5). Another light(er), easy-drinking APA/IPA. Lighter and without the slight harshness of, for example, My Bitter Wife - but also not a DIPA, and with the associated significantly lower ABV. Loads of juicy, citrusy hops make this a very enjoyable and well-behaved thirst quencher. Well worth the cognitive dissonance detailed on the back of the can - a “fiercely irresponsible stereotypical image” on the can, but a “distinctly American style” of beer inside it. I’ll deal with my national identity crisis while I enjoy the beer. Sorry. (17/20)

From 473 ml can in tulip. Pour is slightly hazy golden yellow with a thin white head. The nose pleases with a huge amount of mango, passion fruit and grapefruit. Some grainy malty sweetness. The same strong fruitiness surprises in the mouth. Some residual sugars. The light body makes it easily drinkable but a stronger malty backbone would make this beer even better. Low to medium hop bitterness. Low ABV beer with a strong fruity and floral hop profile.

From le can. Yellowish orange pour with a decent, white head. Aromas of tropical fruit and pine. Creamy texture and has that nice balance of crisp hops and some faint malty sweetness. One of the better Canadian beers I have tried, and it comes in a pretty bad ass can.

Big can. Looks golden/amber. Aroma of a lot of citrusy and floral and resinous hops, some pale and light caramel malts, and some light dough. Flavor the same with a nice hoppiness. Average texture. A really cool pale ale.

Can, fresh from Porterhouse Dublin. Hazy gold pour, nice tight white head. Great orange, grapefruit and pine needle nose - bit of light tropical fruit in there too. Taste is so good: juicy citrus and a touch of mango, with plenty of pine needle and (not so sticky) resin. Nice bit of very light white bread dough and light caramel. Great bitter hit - all citrus and pine driven. Really crisp. This is top gear, go Canada.

Pithy grapefruit full bodied, decent bitterness, hazy gold, this is how all APAs should be made
