3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: ginger, woody (oak), cereal,
A: very pale, hazy, frothy white foam,
T: oak, strawberry, sour cherry
P: medium body, lively carb, longish finish consisting of sour berries and a lot of oak.
O: Enjoyed the beer immensely, but cannot rate it higher than I did because all I can taste is the wine barrel it was aged in.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
bottle shared by mathieuc, thanks bro. pours hazy pale yellow with a very nice frothy head, champagne-like, showing a good retention and nice lacing patterns. perfumey flowers, intense aroma of berries, red grapes, clementines, pepper, herbs, celery, chalk, wheat and pils malts, light woodsy notes, dusty yeastiness, hint of tartness - lemon zing maybe. bright carbonation, light body - slightly watery, dry herbal-fruity-peppery finish. much enjoyed!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (650 ml). Shared by mathieuc, thanks! Clear golden with a small diminishing white head and little lacing. Aroma is unique with watermelon, wine, tropical fruits, yeast notes and a good amount of butter (but not dyacetyl). Taste is of watermelon, tropical fruits, wine, yeasty notes and, again, butter-like flavor. Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. Vinous mouthfeel. Slightly dry finish. Good offering by Great Lakes. Pretty fucked up (and interesting) aroma. I couldn’t get past the butter presence, but it’s still a more than decent beer. Drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle received as part of my CANBIF 2013 box. Pours a clear and light yellow with a medium white head that offers some lacing. Aroma is really fruity (strawberries and mangoes if that makes sense) but also lightly spicy and gave me a few "pickles" impressions over the course of the glass (odd, I know). Taste is winey, fruity. Acid a little but not quite tart. Body was light, mouthfeel vinous. Really nice and fun!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Project X bottle from the brewery) Pours a lightly hazed straw gold with a thin white head of fine bubbles, just a bit of lace. Aroma has a bunch of barrel character, with oak and wine, not buttery (knowing what it is, the light tannic red fruit and herbal, slightly spicy character of Pinot Noir), some light yeasty fruity funk, faint citrus from the hops. Flavour begins with some reasonably tart and lightly funky red fruit over light malt grain dries out, with a pleasant bitter character throughout. Early fruity character (good blend of fruit from barrel, yeast esters and hops) becomes moderated by wood, light spice and then finishes with a slightly tannic, hop-driven bitterness. Carb fairly light for style, effervescent, body moderate. Lots of barrel here, but it is a great integration with hop and yeast elements - from a big Pinot Noir fan, this is an excellent summer sipper.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Volo. Pours a clear orange with average-sized white head. Aroma is full of oak and red grape, some subtle fruity Belgian notes. Flavour is very wine-y with lots of oaky barrel and grape with light funky fruit. Light carb. I liked this (and the Pinot aged Audrey Hopburn) but found the barrel really dominates here.
