650 ml Project X bottle from brewery. Pours a hazy dark amber with modest-sized off-white head. Aroma is distinct wood/leather/dark fruit that mutes the citric hops. Flavour is also woody, dark fruit, caramel and citric hops. Lingering woodiness in finish. Pleasant.

Draught at at Rhino for Project X. Nov. 10, 2011.  Pours a deep amber with a spare long-lasting frothy white head. Big, sweet, barrel-aged aroma with vanilla, wood, brown sugar, coffee and some fruit -- intense. Flavour, which I prefer over the aroma as it isn’t as sweet, follows the aroma but the barrel-aging qualities are a little more subtle and pleasant. Decent bitter finish. Some alcohol present but not overly. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good overall.

Cask at Burger Bar. Amber pour with a thick sticky white head. The aroma has a lot of vanilla and toasted caramel behind the soft sweet malt. A touch of toffee along with a bit of lingering hop character. Muted citrus with some toasted fruit character. Pretty decent stuff.

[4090-20111110] Cask. Vanilla cleaner and celery root aroma. Clear, red amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sweet whiskey vanilla malt flavour has a long sweet barrel aftertaste. Medium body. Nice barrel characteristics. (7/3/7/3/16) 3.6

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2012 2011-11-10. Crisp dark amber body, small frothy tan head and lace. 3+ Flavour has strong barrel influence. Touch of woody vanilla and a boozy bourbony character, muted malt in the background. 6+ Aroma is similar, with a strong bourbon and vanilla character. 6+ Average palate. Enjoyable but a bit one dimensional. The subtler nuances come out a bit more as you go but it’s definitely barrel forward. 7/3/7/3/14 On tap at Rhino for Project X

On tap at Project X at The Rhino. Aged in Jack Daniels whiskey. First sample was a good balance of whiskey, with more whiskey as it warmed. Second sample, room, system warmed, whiskey dominated taste. Good lacing, woody finish. 80 IBU. Light brown coloured body, perhaps a result of filtering. Smooth drinker.

No complexity. No t as good as the regular APA in the cans. Lots of wafting c-hop aroma. Musty oak, not the best bottling job. A little acidic bitterness. Oak detracted rather than contributing any compexity. An experiment that is drinkable. Average mouthfeel. Bottle from the brewery.
