Commercial Description:
The Devil Made Me Brew It! Brewed for 66.6 minutes with 666kg of malt and 6.6kg of hops, Devil's Pale Ale is a robust ale weighing in at 6.6% alcohol (notice a theme yet?). Darker than traditional pale ales, Devil's Pale Ale has an unmistakable hoppiness both in aroma and taste, balanced by a selection of 6 choice malts.

473 mL can. (Listed at simply 6% on the can.) First impressed by this at Toronto Beerfest. Dark mahogany brown; as dark a pale ale as I’ve ever seen. Small head quickly fades to a ring. Aroma is malt, brown sugar, candied fruit, and a touch of soapy hops.. More like an English Ale. Taste is quite interesting, and fairly complex, for the style. Burnt toffee, sweet apple cider, chocolate, hazel nuts, and sweet malt. Finishes quickly. Could use a little more hop bitterness to balance the sweetness, actually. Mouthfeel is full. Nicely carbonated. Well done.

Pours very dark brown. Sweet malty aroma, carrying through into the flavour. The drink was better well chilled, and started to deteriorate as it warmed. The whole experience was surprisingly pleasant, as I wasn’t expecting much, especially from a can.

Looks great and tastes alright at first, but the hops are completely obliterated by sweet malts. Pass.

473 ml can. pours dark brown almost (bright red when held against light). looks much darker then most apa’s. malty aromas dominate but wiffs of hoppy presents are detectable. great malty flavours with hops only showing up to round out the finish. i dont think this is an apa at least it isnt in my books, but it is fantastic and something ill buy loads of.

Pours a mahogany brown with a thin layer of beige head. Aroma is malty with some notes of caramel and brown sugar. Flavour is pretty malty all the way through, with lots of malt caramel sweetnes, a touch of nuttiness in the middle, finish’s with a bitter sour hop taste. All and all a pretty tasty brew, nothin spectacular, but pretty good.

473 ml can - pours a dark chestnut hue with a fine off-white head that soon vanishes. Beautiful really. Big malty aroma with some prunes, musty dark fruits, and some brown sugar. A touch of alcohol in the nose too. Flavour is fairly malty to begin - brown sugar and molasses tail off into a green hops finish. It’s fairly well-integrated, and a pretty interesting brew. I bought 6 cans and will have no trouble getting through them. Kudos to Great Lakes for not resting on their pale lager laurels. Can’t wait for the pumpkin ale!

Natty 500ml can from LCBO with 666 logo on it. Deep ruddy brown cast, fine small bubble head. Unmistakably British style ale-fruits in the taste and decent body! Complex and subtle aroma of hops. After taste of hops and rich malty tones. Is ever so slightly syrupy halfway through a glass, making the overall effect too simplistic - could be improved in this department - but very well made. and a proud ale. Drink well chilled!

Clear amber w/ thin finger of light beige foam. Malty, earthy aroma w/ notes of wood, tobacco, & tea. Light feel. Malty flavour of caramel & licorice / some burnt, woody notes.
