Brightish ruby tinted (fake - like grenadine) copper coloured body with a cola like tan head - interesting. Aroma of fresh malt, oatmeal, grass, pine and a lot of metal. Medium-bodied; Strong astringent and mediciney taste up front with a lot of hops and mostly malt following soon behind. Aftertaste shows more hops with a light toffee sweetness behind and a very mild alcoholic kick near the end. Overall, a decent beer - not the typical APA nor showing a lot of range, but it’s not a horrible beer to sample. I sampled this 473 mL can purchased at the LCBO in downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on 08-April-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 12-May-2009.

16oz can 3/12/09 (LCBO)-Pours a dark amber/light brown with a small covering for a head. Aroma of hops and malt. Flavor of the same with some citrus, caramel, and finishes bitter. This medium bodied brew was not bad and quite tasty.

Can from jerc. What a surprise this beer was. Poured a nice dark amber color with a light head. Some malty and bready aromas give way to good hops. Flavor is very malty and has notes of apple cider...but it has a nice bitter kick. This is pretty good.

courtesy of Andrew. can, pours deep copper/orange, light frothy head. Aroma is filled with malts and sweet hops. Taste, malty caramel with faint notes of hops light sigary notes of fruits. Overall mouthfeel is on the malt side with hops remaining well hidden. Light fruity presence, some citrus.

473ml can acquired in trade with Samm - thanks! Poured a deep orangish color that had kind of a reddish tint and a larger sized off white head. Slightlly hazy too. Aromas of toasted malts with lighter caramel and citrus. Tastes of the same overall toastiness with lighter caramel. Some lacing left on the glass.

Pours a reddish amber with a creamy soft head that reduces to a film on top of the beer. Not a lot of lacing. Subtle aroma of malt, some nuttiness, and faint citrus hops. The taste is mostly malt but is not overly sweet. The hops are mostly there for bitterness and not a lot else. I’m not sure I’d call this a typical pale ale because of the maltiness to it. Maybe this is closer to a brown or red ale. Not what I was expecting, but I’m not dissapointed. Mouthfeel is good and creamy with a medium carbonation.

Pours deep copper with medium off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts and subtle hops. This carries though to the taste with a hint of caramel sweetness. Not overly bitter hop finish. Very nice overall.
