On tap at C’est What? Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Lots of chocolate flavors. This is unusual for a pale ale, but good.

Deep ruby in colour, thin tan coloured head, some light lacing. Aroma is of caramel, dark fruits, light nuts, sweet, some alcohol. The flavour is of caramel malt sweetness, bready, the alcohol is noticable. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long, warming, lots of sweetness.

This is a positive step forward for this brewery.

Thanks to Mr Manning for the 16oz can. Pours a chocolaty brown with a thick off white head. Crazy color for a APA. Very little aroma, but what little I get is malt and caramel. Thick malty chocolaty taste with a pronounced hop bitterness. Finishes creamy and bitter. Not bad for a can.

Pours a translucent brown with a thin off white head. Mild aroma with a little bit of nuts, malt, and some fruit. I thought it was a relatively sweet beer with the malt dominating the hops. I was hoping it would have a little more hop profile. Very easy to drink though and decent overall. Part of the first trade I made on ratebeer. :) Thanks jerc

Tap at C’est What. Deep copper coloured brew, thick tan head. Aroma is quite nice. Softly sweet with notes of apricot, plums and cherries. A bit of nuttiness and a light kiss of licorice as well. The aroma is both subtle and complex at the same time. A little bit sweet with some light brown malts and a fairly fruity flavour. Soft palate. Low bitterness, but the beer is still fairly dry. Pretty decent for what it is.

Can, courtesy blankboy. Pours a dark ruby brown color. Definitely not Webster’s definition of a "pale" ale. A thick foamy off-white head has good retention, and braids of lacing remain on the glass. Big malt aroma, plum, cider, dense chocolate. Some distant pumpkin, too. Very malty flavors, with dough and caramel qualities. Molasses, raisin also. Really don’t get a strong hop presence at all. The malt character leaves a nice refreshing grain feel on the tongue. Easy drinking, and a semi-bitter finish. Not bad.
