DuffMan (1838), Calgary (back from 1yr in AUS), Alberta, Canada Jul 4, 2008 Supercan. Dark amber, moderate head. Caramel, earthy/dried leaves aroma. Fruity and earthy hop character with a caramel malt platform. This came across more as an english style pale ale, but nice nonetheless. Ported (50), Ontario, Canada Jun 27, 2008 Tallboy. Dark brown with tan head. very malty, sweet and slightly fruity. Decent. vanrassel (23), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jun 26, 2008 Poured mahogany with a sticky two-finger head that left rings on the sides of my pint glass. Muted aroma of sugar and plum. Similar vinous flavour complemented by chocolate that ended grainy and dry. Nice substantial body and high carbonation. Sledge Jr (2692), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jun 24, 2008 On tap at C’est What? Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Lots of chocolate flavors. This is unusual for a pale ale, but good. radiomgb (1702), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jun 1, 2008 Deep ruby in colour, thin tan coloured head, some light lacing. Aroma is of caramel, dark fruits, light nuts, sweet, some alcohol. The flavour is of caramel malt sweetness, bready, the alcohol is noticable. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long, warming, lots of sweetness.
This is a positive step forward for this brewery.
