daniel0017 (231), Ontario, Canada Oct 26, 2007 473mL bottle: Nasal assault of sweet malts. Bubbly tan head on clear dark body. Flavor is very malty and sweet, almost like watered down molasses, bitter finish. Mouthfeel is rich and pleasant well balanced carbonation. Overall, it’s a nice guilty pleasure that I would recommend to beer enthusiasts only, but WTF??? Pale ale?? Guess it was the devil’s idea to get Great Lakes brewery to fool me into thinking this was a pale ale.
Raphael__N (156), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 19, 2008 500ml can thanks to a friend. An IPA unlike it’s name. One of the better brews that the Great Lakes brewery has to offer us. Plenty of hops on the palate. Flavour is consistent in a semi-sweet and spicy grapefruit, with coriander and orange peel. Aroma is slightly ’bitter’ (if you can call it that) and sweet with a sour flowery scent. Good brew. jjpm74 (2760), Connecticut, USA Jul 16, 2008 Can courtesy of MrManning. Pours red with an off white head. Smells of sweet malt, some spice. Tastes of citrus, light pepper, nutty. Decent. (Rating #1807) DuffMan (1890), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 4, 2008 Supercan. Dark amber, moderate head. Caramel, earthy/dried leaves aroma. Fruity and earthy hop character with a caramel malt platform. This came across more as an english style pale ale, but nice nonetheless. Ported (51), Ontario, Canada Jun 27, 2008 Tallboy. Dark brown with tan head. very malty, sweet and slightly fruity. Decent.
