Great Lakes Brewing Golden Horseshoe Lager

Bottle. Clear golden body with a small white soapy head. Predominately toasty aroma with sweet grain notes. Apple flavour and faint toast. Its ok but very straightforward and uninteresting.

Bottle. Sixth beer of the night for my own Swill (or almost swill) Fest. And the gems just keep on comin’. I’m sure this will be a winner, an Ontario Pale Lager. Sigh. Pours a pale yellow-gold, somewhat bubbly, with a small diminishing white head. Very, very mild aroma and flavour of mild malt, grain and hops. Clean and nothing foul but so generic and boring, it makes you wonder why anyone would bother with it and why the brewery would bother making it. Light bodied. You could do worse if you are looking for a Labatt or Molson replacement but that’s aiming so low...These guys are capable of making good beers, this just isn’t one of them.

[177-20070103] 341mL. Very unique aroma with very doughy yeast and strong sense of sweetness. Clear, golden yellow body with small bubbles throughout and a foamy medium-lasting white head. Flavour has same doughy yeast overdrive, sweet but sickly. Light-medium clean body. Worth it to smell, but not particularly pleasing.

yellow not much nose a little head this is very crisp easy drinking, kinda bland but there is the market for it or they wouldn’t have lasted 20 years.

33 cl bottle, Shelburne. Pale golden colour, grassy malt aroma. Very weak flavor, some faint malt aftertaste, a pretty sub-par showing I would say.

BOOOOOORRRRRRRRING! surprise surprise, another lager in the Ontario Beer scene. WHOA, i’m shocked. You know its hard to believe the brewery that came out with a WICKED winter ale, and the awesome devils pale ale, keeps making a bland boring, not even good lager like this,

Bottle - 341ml. Boring golden body with good carbonation and a diminishing white bubbly head. Its malty/hoppy aroma carries some strong candy/bubble gum hints. Taste is rather thin. Some unpleasant metallic and corny notes are detectable. Aftertaste is non-existent. Useless.

Nothing memorable here. Crystal light gold lager. Light body and not too much taste and aromas.
