pootzboy (1037), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada Oct 7, 2006 Fresh bottle from brewery:
Poured a crystal light gold lager in the mug with a small white cap that goes fairly quickly...but does lace the glass.
Almost no aroma to speak of...faint sweetness and cerial husks.
Light body, sandy mouth feel, smooth mild character
Light malts up front a bit fizzy from carbonation but there are some hops balancing the light malts...quick finsh, drying light biscuit taste at finish...no after taste.
Standard Canadian golden all malt lager clean, no off tastes, inoffensive. Nekronos (2261), Xalapa, Mexico Sep 15, 2006 Interesting to have. It is almost insipit, no bubbles and good foam and almost aromaless. Dark goldne in appearance. JohnBarleycorn (390), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 27, 2006 Average pale-gold appearance with medium-sized bubbles and an ephemeral
head. Stale, insipid malt and hop aromas with a slight dose of kitty litter. For all the negative adjectives one could use to describe the aroma, there’s very little to say about the flavour: it’s just boring. No thanks.
jingajinga (12), USA Aug 5, 2006 Okay although lagers may be boring it certainly performed well within thestyle guidelines. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 3, 2006 Now we’re into the dregs. Thin, pee-yellow, very macro-flavoured with a noticeable pineapple/fake tropical fruit flavour to it. Very dull and substandard. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 30, 2006 Pale yellow, cheesy aroma. Astringent apple juice. Fizzy cabonation. Some lace. Sampled at LCBO Summerhill Festival. Corn, macro beer imitation, although with less preservatives. Light bodied.Unfinishable beergut111 (210), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 29, 2006 Went to a bbq today and had a few bottles of this. Not great, but it was definitley better than the alternatives of coors light, schlitz and Canadian. DuffMan (2723), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada May 2, 2006 So I’m at my brother-in-law’s place and I find a single bottle of this behind a big stash of liquor in his storage room. Hmmmmm. Pale yellow, very carbonated with a big head. Faintly appley aroma. Moderately sweet pale malt, again with a faintly apple character. I’m not sure that this "apple" character is part of this beer’s usual profile, as I learned this bottle is probably pretty old, and likely off. Anyway, maybe it was my mindset (watching hockey), but I liked it.
