550ml draught
6.2% ABV
I tried this beer on draught at "C’est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a coca-cola colour with a creamy tan head that lasted. The aroma was weak roasted malt, smoke, molasses, and coffee. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was slightly sweet malt, some dark fruit, smoked wood, and coffee. A very good porter.

Tap CW. Very dark and dark brn cap, smell smoke and rich coffee-cocoa. Taste coffee-cocoa and impressive dryness of hop with trail of smoke and roast. Finsih becomes a bit green, rather a big porter that could stand some age to smooth it.

Pour dark brown with a tan head. Aroma quite roasty with chocolate, mild coffee, cereal grain, toasty. Taste very roasty, chocolate, biscuit, cereal, caramel, mild hops, nutty. MF full body somewhat watery decent carb. Solid brew something I’d love to see more of from Ontario. Thanks Sevenduffs!!!

On tap at Volo
Aroma mild dark roast notes. Mild bit muted nose.
Appearance brown-black with thin beige top.
Flavor and Palate : medium light body. Plus carbonation. Good roast feel, hint of charcoal. It was lacking some spirit. Goof front but follow up was rather weak.

on tap at The Burger Bar. Jet black pour, with a big rocky beige head. Amazing roasted malt aroma, touches of vanilla, wood, and some coffee. Decent mouthfeel, and a solid carbonation. the flavor was super satisfying. Roasty, burnt coffee, and some great vanilla finish. what a great porter, please bottle this!

Strong bitter hops, seems almost too much of a presence for a porter, and some bitter coffee. Decent but my mistake was drinking it right after an imperial stout and a dipa. Pours black, decent carbonation. On tap at Burger Bar.

On Tap at C’est what. Black pour with very little head. Slightly smoky aroma, black coffee, a bit of wood and earthiness. Roasted malt, chocolate, some smoke and hop bitterness, very slightly leathery. Carbonation and mouthfeel are spot on. Solid and fairly interesting - I really like what Great Lakes has been doing with their one offs - hopefully a few of these will become regular or seasonale offerings.

On tap at C’est What? Appearance: pitch black, mocha coloured head. Aroma: Slightly smoky, chocolate, sweet, creamy, a little coffee too, nice! Flavour: Nicely smoked at first, lovely chocolate and leather notes with a beautiful coffee, a little cloves, long tangy chocolate and leather finish. Quite lovely.

Cask at at Rhino for Project X. Pours a nice looking very dark brown with ruby highlights and a small diminishing creamy light-brown head. Aroma starts with coffee followed by roasted malt and some chocolate. Delicious flavour of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, cream, some light leafy hops and a roasty bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. One of the best Porters I’ve had in quite a while, fantastic.

Cask at C’est What. Deep black pour with a tight brown head. The aroma has a lot of cocoa and some softly roasty. There is a little bit of roast and some chewy herbal aroma. Soft and a little bit earthy. Some chewy character as well as a touch of black patent malt. A lot of roast and a fairly assertive bitterness along with a little bit of toast as well. Really tasty stuff.
