3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On the nose some nice burnt coffee and dark chocolate.
Taste wise, while those same flavours are coming through, there is a surprising sweetness on the back of the tongue. This is not a bitter Porter.
Liked this one quite a bit

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Bar Hop (Toronto). Dark brown with mocha head. Chocolate, vanilla, hint of smoke, quite sweet, underlying semi-roasted malt. High carbonation, mild+ body, chocolate cake with a hint of hazelnut, sweet but dry on finish, reminds me of Rogue Chocolate Stout.

Cask on draught at WVRST. January 28, 2014.
Decent porter from a brewery that makes beers I’m not usually interested in. Faint aroma. Dark, opaque beer (hard to see in dimly-lit restaurant). Bitter chocolate and coffee. Not quite as strong flavoured as I would have expected, but still a nice porter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can. Black colour with a fast head. I find the aroma to be quite barley like at first then it goes all roast and chocolate like after with a hint of dust or something grainy. On the palate it proves to be chocolate and sweet like with a bittery finish. Decent beer.

Aroma has big notes bourbon with hints of roasted malts and chocolate.Taste is a semi-sweet bitter with a malty aftertaste.Medium body with a low-medium carbonation. Slick, oily, syrupy mouth feel but still very drinkable. Not overly Swwet. Well balanced.Overall very good. Would buy again to sip away at. Good show!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 (Project X bottle from the brewery) From what I can see (consumed by candlelight the night of the great Toronto flood), pours an extremely dark brown with a head of tan foam, light lace. Aroma heavy on roast, dark chocolate, bitter, grassy hops, a little coffee and smoke. Flavour follows the aroma, toffee malts underlie what is a roast/chocolate/coffee porter body with a reasonable helping of herbal hops, light dried fruit and some smokiness. Finishes on the dry side with roast, smoke, some hops bitterness, a little thin. Body is fairly light, over-carbed, no booze. This is a pretty good porter, but I’m coming to the conclusion that "ordinary" porters are just not quite my thing. The GL Robust Porter blows this into the weeds.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
650 ml (Project X) bottle from brewery. Pours an ultra dark brown with dense light brown head. Roasty cocoa, espresso and fruity hints in the aroma. Flavour is fairly rich roasty/smoky malt with strong cocoa presence, some coffee and gentle notes of dark, dried fruit. Average plus body. Quite nice.
