Cask at C’est What. Deep black pour with a tight brown head. The aroma has a lot of cocoa and some softly roasty. There is a little bit of roast and some chewy herbal aroma. Soft and a little bit earthy. Some chewy character as well as a touch of black patent malt. A lot of roast and a fairly assertive bitterness along with a little bit of toast as well. Really tasty stuff.

Project X at The Rhino, on-tap. Flat out the best porter I have had Ontario made. Spot on the style, smoth drinker. Not opaque black with only a litle head. Creamy mouthfeel, tasty, popular by GL staff as well who were having sample after sample. Milk chocolatey. Just bitter enough and rated at 45 ibu.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2012 2012-01-12. Solid porter, seemed sweeter and less roasty than the Reserve Stache version in both the aroma and flavour. Very drinkable, smooth medium to full bodied palate. Quite nice. On tap at the brewery for Project X as Harry Porter.
2011-11-10. Brown tinged black body, modest tan head and lace. 3+ Dry roasty malt, fairly bitter throughout, dry roasty character lingers. 7+ Similar aroma, modest roast over dry malt. 7+ Average plus palate. Solid, well made porter. On tap at Rhino for Project X as Great Lakes Brewing Burt Reynolds Reserve Stache Porter

Aroma mild dark roast notes. Mild bit muted nose.
Appearance brown-black with thin beige top.
Flavor and Palate : medium light body. Plus carbonation. Good roast feel, hint of charcoal. It was lacking some spirit. Goof front but follow up was rather weak.

Cask at at Rhino for Project X. Pours a nice looking very dark brown with ruby highlights and a small diminishing creamy light-brown head. Aroma starts with coffee followed by roasted malt and some chocolate. Delicious flavour of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, cream, some light leafy hops and a roasty bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. One of the best Porters I’ve had in quite a while, fantastic.

Half point at the Loon. Deep brown black with a small mocha head. Decent black coffee and dark chocolate, cold and tight, a touch of tang, a touch smokey. Medium body with plucky effervescence. Reasonable coffee, a little leafy hops stern and stark, a little molasses and a touch of smoke; dry with decent bitterness and a fair long black coffee finish.
