3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A clear amber copper ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, fruity malt with light spices, dark fruits and light alcohol. In mouth, nice dark fruits with smooh herbal hops and licorice, nice.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale golden yellow pour with a thin white head. The aroma is lightly spicy with a kiss of lemon citrus. It almost has a touch of coriander there, although I suspect itís just the yeast. Light-bodied and a little bit of soft white pepper. The yeast doesnít really have the sort of individuality Iíd prefer to see, but itís still a decent brew.

On tap at Volo. Saison yeast smell. A story in pepper. I was getting the pepper, not balanced. Not so drinkable, average mouthfeel.

2011-03-11. Dark amber body with a modest beige head. 3+ Strong floral aroma with a spice melange, sweet lemon and lemon grass. 7+ Flavour takes after the name in so far as it is like a high school makeout session Ė exciting and interesting, a little confused at times, and comes on just a little too strong at first. As you acclimatize to the initial assertiveness the spice character gains a bit more nuance, lemon grass like character, bitter lingering sort of floral notes, and a melange of spice interaction that I lack the vocabulary to adequately describe. 7+ Smooth average plus bodied palate. Pretty nice, very interesting. I think a slight tweaking of the balance of the flavours somehow might take this from very good to excellent, at least for my own tastes. Need to try this at least once more to really wrap my head around it I think. Great Lakes Tap Takeover at Volo, Toronto

On tap at Volo
Aroma rather sweet with hint of wheat in there , elements of fruit (berry) , cellar earthy dryness. 7+
Appearance amber with haze. Good creamy top.4-
Flavor and Palate : Medium plus bodied. Front is accented to be on sweeter side. Texture it self was rather chewy. Fruity follow up with hop accents behind. This ale is quiet drinkable. Friendly fruity fink. Nice.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at Volo April 30, 2012. Hazy deep amber-orange with a large frothy-foamy off-white lasting head - thick lace remnants too. Juicy aroma, not sweet but heavy malt with floral bitterness balancing it, a spicy young bretty funk - no alcohol. Taste follows, but muted funk and thicker malt, it is buttery in a good way; rich and thick, with a dry floral slightly acidic finish. Seemed a bit young, but tasty and it went down a treat.

Draught at Volo. Pours a hazy amber with a small creamy lasting off-white head. Nice aroma of yeast, spices & herbs, tangy/sour fruit and tropical/citrus fruit. Flavour, also nice, of yeast, herbs & spices, wheat and lots of fruit. Light but long bitter finish. Medium bodied. Maybe not totally on style for a Saison (to me) but itís quite enjoyable, I really liked it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
[3635-20110312] Tap. Yeasty citrus zest aroma. Slightly hazy, amber brown body with a quick creamy off-white head. Bitter lemon zest and boozy spruce-like malt flavour. Medium-full body is noticeably bitter. Powerful, on the brink of overly so. (7/3/7/3/15) 3.5

650mL bottle, listed as 7.8% ABV on bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a white head. Aroma of brett yeast, barnyard funk and rustic qualities. Flavour is quite different, being salty and soapy - salty hops, some brett, mineral-y, some barnyard - overridden by the salty notes. Solid.
