Wow, first had this on tap at Brydens, now I look for it everywhere. WIsh this was their main beer instead of Canuck. So much hop / floral / citrus it’s amazing. Balance is perfect for an IPA and the finish is strong. If it had more malt it could be a double IPA.

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2011 2011-05-13. crisp golden amber body with a small wite head. 3+ Lovely hoppy aroma, modest citrus melange, modest leafy green hop character. 7+ Flavour is similar with a modest citrus and leafy green hop profile throughout. Smooth average to light bodied palate. 3+ Went back for two more of these and it seemed like each sample was slightly different. Quite enjoyable but didn’t knock my socks off like it did on tap. 7+/3+/7+/3+/16 - 3.6 Volo IPA Cask Challenge
2011-03-11. Hazy orange amber with a modest white head. 3+ Lovely hoppy aroma, modest citrus melange grows by the sniff, light alcohol. Not as assertive as some but it is persistent and keeps checking in as you drink your way through the glass. 8+ The flavour has a similar hop profile, lovely citrus, sort of tangerine like character, mild hop bitterness throughout, light alcohol, lingering citrus in the finish and aftertaste. Average plus bodied palate. YOWZA! It probably doesn’t have the depth of character that some others do but this just makes a marvelous first impression and continues to ingratiate itself as you go on. Eminently drinkable. I opened a bottle at home the next night and was please to find it of similarly high quality. MORE PLEASE! 8+/4/8/3/17+ - 4.2 Great Lakes Tap Takeover at Volo, Toronto

Draught at Volo. Pours a cloudy orange-copper with a small diminishing white head. Aroma: Oh wow, I love this, it’s amazing! Just lots and lots of lovely hops galore. Flavour’s just as great, again with lots of lovely hops -- it’s so flavourful. Nice, somewhat long bitter finish. Medium bodied. Hands down the beer of the night and quite possibly Great Lakes’ best beer yet.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2012 March 12, 2011 - Great Lakes Tap Take-over at Volo. Draught. Murky yellow-orange with a fairly large creamy off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma - ooooh, nice! - catnip, catty, pungent, maybe a bit of spruce - citra! 8+ ... Taste - follows, light grain, citrus, and pungent and robust - unlike the Johnny Simcoe, this one may be better tasting than smelling - not much alcohol either - nice balance, too. Solid body, astringent, decent carbonation, a fairly long dry pungent catty finish - yumm. More, please.

On tap at Imbibe. This one came as a great break for me as I had been drinking Stouts all night. Clear goldish-amber with a medium white head. The aroma is fantastic, just a huge punch to the face of Citra hops, so much citrus and pine character, peachy too. Flavour is even better, with a perfect balance between the adequate malt body and the ample hop aspects. I thought I actually wasn’t really a Citra hop fan but this beer totally changed that. Awesome peachy-lemony character that was difficult not to drink too quickly. Definitely a great offering from GLB.
