News of any new hop coming from the Yakima Valley perks the ears of IPA brewers everywhere, but, with Citra, things were different. The buzz was bigger. As Citra’s wave rolled across the land from the west coast we waited... and waited. Finally it crested, and a sample crashed into our pilot system. After brewing with it all the buzz made sense. Comments ranged from "Well that changes the game" to "It’s so good it feels like we’re cheating." Today we procure as much as Citra as we can to bring you as much of this IPA as our little brewery can muster. All hail Citra!

Thanks to cfrancis for this one. Pours a partly hazy golden orange with a fluffy white head and soapy lace up the glass. Aroma if the signature Citra hop, tropical fruits, guava, mango and passionfruit with a delicate malt balance. Taste is mango, tropical fruits, guava and again with a delicate malt balance and bitterness. The bitterness on the finish borders astringent but never is. Alot of people use Citra but few use it this well! The best beer made by GLB!

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2015 Bomber from the LCBO. Pours a cloudy medium orange with a luxurious thick white head leaving a fair amount of lacing. Aromas of citrus and mango, some molasses with a touch of pine. Very creamy mouthfeel. Tastes are of orange peel, but not overly bitter. Almost creamsickle-like at times. Light caramel backbone especially on the swallow. Overall I am a growing fan of Citra hops and this one illustrates all of the good things that type of hop brings to the beer glass.

Now this is a good beverage. I waited a few weeks for my local pub to tap this keg and it was worth it. Cloudy colour, nicely balanced flavor, citrus finish, all round delightful beer. I had a second pint.

Made with Citra hops, this dark gold beer pours with a nice white head and has a lovely citrus hop aroma. The Citra hops are handled wonderfully and the beer is appropriately bitter and has a great finish.

Bottle from Castro’s Lounge. Cloudy amber. Fantastic citrus candy aroma. Terrific sweet fruity citrus taste up front. Hoppy bitter finish, but not too bitter. Very well-balanced IPA. Full somewhat sticky body. Great!
