COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
News of any new hop coming from the Yakima Valley perks the ears of IPA brewers everywhere, but, with Citra, things were different. The buzz was bigger. As Citra’s wave rolled across the land from the west coast we waited... and waited. Finally it crested, and a sample crashed into our pilot system. After brewing with it all the buzz made sense. Comments ranged from "Well that changes the game" to "It’s so good it feels like we’re cheating." Today we procure as much as Citra as we can to bring you as much of this IPA as our little brewery can muster. All hail Citra!

Bomber from the LCBO. Pours a cloudy medium orange with a luxurious thick white head leaving a fair amount of lacing. Aromas of citrus and mango, some molasses with a touch of pine. Very creamy mouthfeel. Tastes are of orange peel, but not overly bitter. Almost creamsickle-like at times. Light caramel backbone especially on the swallow. Overall I am a growing fan of Citra hops and this one illustrates all of the good things that type of hop brings to the beer glass.

Bottle from Castro’s Lounge. Cloudy amber. Fantastic citrus candy aroma. Terrific sweet fruity citrus taste up front. Hoppy bitter finish, but not too bitter. Very well-balanced IPA. Full somewhat sticky body. Great!

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2014 Strong scent of grapefruit, orange, and hops. Clear orange-gold colour. Bitter upfront with clean finish; flavours of citrus and honey. Medium body with mild carbonation. A really good IPA, as it’s not too abrasive, and it’s clean finish doesn’t make the 650ml bottle a battle against bitter.

650ml bottle from the lcbo These guys are making some awesome beers what an aroma from a regular ipa? sure it is not a double or imperial you can smell the raw hops which is weird but wonderful at the the same time it really smells like a bowel of pelletized hops nice unfiltered dark yellow with a big frothy sticky head with huge lacing The taste is more subdued then the aroma would suggest but still nice more sweet the bitter but bitter enough to make this a great beer

Blonde orangé. Très fraiche. Belle amertume. Citronné. Légèrement poivrée. Agrume. Pamplemousse. Très florale. Légère base malté/sucré. Houblons résineux. Rafraichissante. Géniale.

650ml bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow with an off-white head. VERY fragrant nose, grapefruit, light dried strawberries, lots of resinous hops, light grassy notes, and light cannabis. Taste wise herbal notes, fruity and resinous hops up front that lead into more of the same, and a very pleasant fruit forward finish, (white grapefruit). It’s VERY well balanced, and not overpowering in anyway. For a 6.6% beer, this might be a little too easy drinking. Well done.

650 mL bottle. Pours a hazy peach nectar with a fluffy cap of white foam. Aromas of mango, passionfruit, peach, light pine and mild resin with some honeycomb like sweetness. Slightly sweet but finishes dry and mildly bitter. Palate is lightly sticky, with a light to moderate body and average carbonation. Delightfully flavourful and balanced; stupendously drinkable.

Bottle from the LCBO. Hazy pale orange-amber with a generous fluffy white head that fades slowly and leaves great lace. Nose is loaded with resinous pine, citrus and floral hops. Just sweet enough in the start to balance the huge citrus bitterness in the middle and end. Medium slick mouth and a dry chewy finish. Need to pick up more before they are all gone...
