COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
News of any new hop coming from the Yakima Valley perks the ears of IPA brewers everywhere, but, with Citra, things were different. The buzz was bigger. As Citra’s wave rolled across the land from the west coast we waited... and waited. Finally it crested, and a sample crashed into our pilot system. After brewing with it all the buzz made sense. Comments ranged from "Well that changes the game" to "It’s so good it feels like we’re cheating." Today we procure as much as Citra as we can to bring you as much of this IPA as our little brewery can muster. All hail Citra!

On tap at Stack. Pours a lightly cloudy orange with good-sized, lasting, slightly off-white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, lemon zest and caramel malt. Flavour is big grapefuity hops with some pine resin and other tropical fruits as well as a solid caramel backbone. Lovely IPA - nice and hoppy, but has good balance.

Pours orange & fantastic on the back porch of the only cafe on the first warm afternoon of the season. Thick & juicy with deep grapefruit squishiness & flowing waves of hop. Not too bitter for those who fear that bite. Awesome stuff.

Growler from Great Lakes. Pours a nearly clear, copper/gold with a one finger, off white head that leaves moderate lacing. Aroma has huge notes of dank pine, orange citrus, and resin. Really fricking good. Taste is a strong, but not overblown, bitter with lots of pine, resin, citrus, bread, and a drawn out aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation. Slightly resiny texture but very drinkable. Overall a fantastic brew. Lots of pine, resin, and citrus. Awesome.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2014 Bomber from the LCBO. Smells really hoppy. Pours a hazy yellow, with thick white head. Fruity notes dominate the nose with some pine. Full fruit juice flavour up front and all the way through, smothering the bitterness until the very end. Great IPA, wish it was always available.

Golden amber pour with a nice frothy head. Nice hoppy citrus aroma...big bitter citrus flavour up front with a hint on caramel. Great Lakes should start thinking about a Tank 11 and 12!

The beer pours a slightly hazed orange-gold colour with a short-lived head. Aroma is citrusy hops, and some weak grass notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is grapefruity hops, some light fruit and graininess rounds out the palate. Very well balanced.
