2012-02-02. Very dark brown bod, fast fading head. Sweet malty aroma, interesting overtones, fruit, sugars, something else, all blends together in interesting ways, dry malt character. 6+ Flavour is similarly malt forward, dry malt whispers of caramel turn into fruity dry toasty malt accents, very light metallic accents in the finish. Sweet core, finishes quite dry and mildly bitter. 6+ Average plus palate is very lightly carbonated. Decent and enjoyable, it is quite drinkable but a bit overly dry at times for my own tastes. Tap at Volo, Toronto

[4281-20120202] Tap. Smoky toasted breadcrumbs grain aroma. Slightly hazy, deep dark red body with a quick bubbly off-white head. Boozy thick malt grain flavour has a sweet aftertaste. Medium-full body. Tasty but a bit of a kick at first. (6/3-/7/4/14) 3.4

Draught at Volo. Feb.3. Pours dark brown with red hues and a small fizzy tan head. Aroma is mild and starts with sugary sweetness followed by caramel malt, fruit and nuts. Slightly watery flavour of caramel malt, some light sugary sweetness, nuts and very light hops. Average bodied. It’s not bad but it’s a bit of a disappointment, I’m not a big Brown Ale fan but I still thought this would be better.

On tap at Volo. Pours a dark brown colour with small tan head. Aroma is fairly mild with toasty caramel, light sweetness and a little fruit. Flavour is quite malty with roasty caramel and some chocolate and a hint of fruit. Medium body. Pleasant and drinkable.
