The weather channel describes Lake Effect snow as a “mass of sufficiently cold air moving over a body of water creating an unstable temperature profile in the atmosphere.” Who cares. This beer, however, has nothing to do with that drivel. It was inspired by a summer spent drinking heaps of IPAs on a stoop on Elmwood Ave. in Buffalo, NY.

I love IPA’s and this one got me at the first sip. Pours with a nice puffy head, unfiltered so it looks like a Lake Effect Storm. Smooth tasty, dood work as usual GLB

650 ml bottle. Pours a veiled, slightly coppery golden with a nice white head. Aroma is grapefruit, cereal, sugar. Flavor is loads of fruits, grapefruit, orange, lemon, pineapple and mango. Finish is fruity candies, with nice grapefruity bitterness. Lingering bitterness. Light to medium body, average carbonation. Superb IPA!

The beer has a significant head that last a minute, than nothing. Nose is hoppy and a bit citrucy, but nothing to really get my attention. The mouthfeel is quite the same as the nose: fresh hops with a bit of lemon peel added to it. The beer cuts dry on the tongue quite rapidly wich is a disapointement because you would expect more from this beer. Pretty well balanced though, this beer is a very good IPA to start your day with during a hot summer afternoon, or pairing with a fine fresh veggie salad. Nothing bad in this beer, but nothing outstanding either.

650 mL Bottle. Quite enjoyable. Thin frothy head, medium notes of citrus and hops, with notes of pine. Bitter Finish

Pours clear gold/apple juice with a short white sudsy head. Nose is sweet and fruity, with crisp pine and citric hops, on top of some antiseptic notes. Mouthfeel is odd. Not quite enough carbonation makes it seem like it has a fuller body. Juicy and bitter hops, and alcohol flavours predominate, toasted grain, a medicinal herbal quality. Some mild peach, apple, and grass. Sweet malt liquor finish. Not a big fan.

Hazy blonde. Thin head. Clean biscuity malts, blueberry and grapefruit, smooth real tasty beer. Fuuu...toasty, biscuity, but clean moderate citrus bitterness. Real good IPA.

Sampled at Barhop. Slightly hazy light sheet with a nice fluffy white head. Crisp blended citrus with some grass, fresh, some caramel make. Moderate body and carbonation, bitter, becomes dry, nice finish.

bottle. Hazy orange colour and small bubbly head. Very strong pine aroma, nice. Taste is well balanced with sweet caramel malts, although the piney and citrus hops are definitely the attraction. Good ipa.

650 mL bottle. Hazy straw gold pour, couple of fingers of white foamy head, medium amount of sticky lacing. Tropical fruit nose, and lots of pine. Taste is similar with a big hop finish. Great IPA.
